In a joint operation with the Rajasthan Police, the Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested three men, including two shooters, from Chandigarh for their alleged involvement in the killing of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, officials said Sunday.
Gogamedi was gunned down in the living room of his house in Jaipur on December 5. A CCTV footage had surfaced purportedly showing the assailants opening fire at Gogamedi.
Police had identified the two alleged killers as Rohit Rathore from Jaipur and Nitin Fauji from Haryana's Mahendragarh, and announced a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their arrest.
Delhi Police sources on Sunday said a team of the Crime Branch in a joint operation with the Rajasthan Police nabbed the duo from Chandigarh's Sector 22. They were accompanied by one more associate, Udham Singh, who was also caught.
According to a police officer, the accused will be handed over to the Jaipur police for further interrogation.
An 11-member SIT was formed by the Rajasthan Police to nab the accused.
On Saturday, another man was arrested in Jaipur for allegedly contracting the shooters to kill Gogamedi.
According to the police, Ramveer Jat, one of the conspirators in the Gogamedi murder case, had prepared the groundwork for Fauji, his friend, in Jaipur ahead of the killing.

Union minister Smriti Irani on Saturday took a dig at the Congress over the recovery of "unaccounted" cash from the premises of a party leader during income tax raids, saying this is not the first time a Congress MP is found involved in "corruption".
The seizure of "unaccounted" cash after the income-tax department raided an Odisha-based distillery group and entities linked to it is expected to reach Rs 290 crore, making it the "highest-ever" black money haul by any agency in a single operation, official sources said on Saturday.

The tax department has deployed about 40 large and small machines to count the currency notes and brought in more department and bank staffers to finish the process, which began on December 6 following raids against Boudh Distillery Private Limited and others, the sources said.
Besides these, more vehicles have also been requisitioned by the department to transport the seized cash to government banks in the state.

The Bahujan Samaj Party on Saturday suspended its Lok Sabha member Danish Ali for "anti-party" activities.
In a brief statement, the party's Uttar Pradesh unit said Ali, the MP from Amroha, has been suspended for anti-party activities.
The move comes a day after Ali walked out of Lok Sabha proceedings along with other opposition members on Friday to protest against the government's motion to expel TMC member Mahua Moitra for "unethical conduct". Other Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) members remained seated in the House.
Ali has been actively joining opposition ranks in attacking the BJP and its policies even though the Mayawati-led BSP has maintained a distance from the ruling alliance as well as the opposition.
Satish Chandra Misra, the party's general secretary, said in a letter to Ali, "You were told verbally many times that you should not make any statement or take any action against the policies, ideology and discipline of the party, but despite this you have been continuously acting against the party." Misra reminded Ali that he was a member of HD Deve Gowda's Janata Dal (Secular) till 2018.
"... on the request of Deve Gowda, you were given a ticket from Amroha as a candidate of the Bahujan Samaj Party and before giving this ticket, Gowda had given an assurance that you will always follow all the policies and instructions of the Bahujan Samaj Party and will work in the interest of the party," the letter read.
The party charged him with forgetting the assurances he had given and indulging in anti-party activities.
"Therefore, now, in the interest of the party, you are suspended from the membership of the Bahujan Samaj Party with immediate effect," the letter in Hindi said.&nbsp;

She then went on to write that when the train staff came back he had divided the bill into two sections - the price of veg thali was Rs 80 and the paneer was billed at Rs 70.&nbsp;
'When he brought the bill he bifurcated the amount into two components veg thali- ₹80 + paneer sabji ₹70 =₹150. We asked him to make the bill only for veg thali as we ordered just that. He kept arguing with us for an hour that this is how the bill is prepared. After an hour his official came and said he can&rsquo;t give the promised bill. They gave us bill for veg thali ₹80 and said &ldquo;aap itna hi pay kar do&rdquo;.'
Ruchi tagged the railways minister and Indian Railways in her tweet.&nbsp;

IRCTC replied to her complaint and said 'Ma'am, thanks for highlighting the matter it is viewed seriously. A hefty penalty has been imposed on service provider . Also, the concerned licensee staff involved in overcharging has been deboarded.'

The External Affairs Ministry has issued a clarification after Minister of State Meenakshi Lekhi said that a reply to a question in Parliament about Hamas was being wrongly attributed to her.

A technical correction is being made mentioning V Muraleedharan's name as the minister who replied to a Parliament question on the designation of Hamas, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Saturday.
The clarification from MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi came hours after Union minister Meenakshi Lekhi said she did not approve any answer to the question.
Both Lekhi and Muraleedharan are ministers of state in the MEA.
Responding to a post on X, Lekhi on Saturday said she did not approve any answer to the question and said an "inquiry will reveal the culprit".
"We have noted that Lok Sabha Unstarred Question No. 980 answered on December 8 needs a technical correction in terms of reflecting V Muraleedharan as the Minister of State replying to the Parliament question. This is being suitably undertaken," Bagchi said.
His response came on media queries on the matter.
The written answer to the unstarred question number 980, uploaded on the Lok Sabha's website, was attributed to Lekhi.
"You have been misinformed as I have not signed any paper with this question and this answer," Lekhi said on X in response to a post on the microblogging platform.
The question titled "Declaration of Hamas as Terrorist Organisation" was put out by Congress MP Kumbakudi Sudhakaran.
"Designation of an organisation as terrorist is covered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and declaring any organisation as terrorist is considered as per the provisions of the Act by the relevant government departments," the answer to the question mentioned.
Shiv Sena's (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Rajya Sabha MP Priyanka Chaturvedi said on X that "is she (Lekhi) then claiming it is a forged response, if yes this is a serious breach and violation of the rules that prevail. Would be grateful for a clarification from @MEAIndia".
Sudhakaran, who represents Kannur in the Lower House of Parliament, had asked whether the government has any proposal to declare Hamas a terrorist organisation in India; if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefore.
When pointed out that the Lok Sabha and the MEA websites had the answer to the question mentioned in her name, Lekhi said an "inquiry will reveal the culprit".
"Asking questions that were submitted through someone else led to expulsion of an MP yesterday, today a minister denies that reply to a PQ (Parliament Question) was approved by her, shouldn't that be investigated too? Shouldn't it lead to seeking accountability, however innocuous the response from the Ministry of External Affairs?" Chaturvedi asked on X.
"Who logged in for you?" Congress leader Amitabh Dubey asked in response to Lekhi's post on X.&nbsp;

People's Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said the actions of the Jammu and Kashmir adminstration hint towards the Supreme Court passing a verdict on petitions related to Article 370 of the Constitution, which might be against the interest of the country.
"Since Friday night, we are witnessing that lists containing the names of the workers of different parties, especially the PDP, are being taken through police stations and it seems that such a decision is to come which is not in favour of this country and Jammu and Kashmir, but only to further the BJP's agenda and hence, some precautionary measures are being taken, which is unfortunate," Mufti told reporters in Anantnag.
She asserted that it is the apex court's responsibility to ensure that it does not push the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) agenda, but keeps the integrity of the country and its Constitution intact.
Mufti said the court's decision should be clear that the decision taken by the BJP-led Centre on August 5, 2019 to abrogate the provisions of Article 370 was "illegal, unconstitutional", against Jammu and Kashmir and the promises made to the people here.
"First, the Supreme Court took a lot of time to hear the cases. It took it five years. Then, the Supreme Court itself in its previous judgments has said no one can abrogate Article 370 barring the constituent Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.
"So I think the decision should be simple that whatever was done on August 5, 2019 was illegal, unconstitutional, against Jammu and Kashmir and the promises made to the people here," the former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said.

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Saturday urged citizens to have the audacity to listen to others and break their own echo chambers.
The CJI was speaking at the 20th convocation ceremony of the Symbiosis International (Deemed) University in Pune.
&ldquo;The power of listening to others is important in every sphere of life. It is enormously liberating to yield that space to others. The problem with our society is that we are not listening to others&hellip;we are listening only to ourselves,&rdquo; he said.
By having the audacity to listen one concedes that the individual may not have all the right answers but is willing to explore and find them, the CJI said, adding it also gives a chance to break &ldquo;our own echo chambers&rdquo; and &ldquo;give us a newer understanding of the world around us&rdquo;.
&ldquo;Life has a peculiar way of teaching us. Let humility, courage and integrity be your companions in this journey,&rdquo; he said.
CJI Chandrachud added that contrary to the common misconception, strength is not shown by anger or violence or by being disrespectful to people in one&rsquo;s personal space and professional life.
&ldquo;The real intelligence and strength of people is in their ability to face the many adversities of life and retain their ability to humanise people around them with humility and grace,&rdquo; he added.
He said while most people strive for an affluent life and there is nothing wrong with that, the process should be value-ridden and there should be no compromise on principles and values.
&ldquo;Success is measured not only by popularity but by a commitment to a higher purpose. People should be kind to themselves and not be harsh on their own existence,&rdquo; CJI Chandrachud said.
The CJI said people of his generation when they were young were taught not to ask too many questions but that has now changed and the youth now are not afraid to ask questions and quell their intuition.
He said he recently saw an Instagram reel of a young girl raising concerns over the poor condition of roads in her residential vicinity.
&ldquo;As I saw that reel, my mind went back to the year 1848 when the first girls&rsquo; school was established here in Pune. The tribute goes to Savitribai Phule who encouraged education despite violent patriarchal tendencies. When Savitribai Phule went to school, she used to carry an extra saree as villagers used to throw garbage at her,&rdquo; CJI Chandrachud said.
He added that people should never shut their minds. They should have the ability to listen to others and have the humility to accept when they are right or wrong, he said.
&ldquo;A judge learns the most from the woes of litigants around, a doctor learns the most practising bedside manners, a parent learns the most hearing the grievances of their children, a teacher learns the most from the questions of students and you (students) will learn the most from the questions that people will pose to you as you grow up in life,&rdquo; he said.

BJP MLA T Raja Singh, who won from Goshamahal in last month's assembly elections, said in a video message that he would never take oath "as long as he is alive" in front of the AIMIM.&nbsp;

Newly elected BJP MLAs in Telangana boycotted the oath ceremony as it was being administered by pro-tem speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi whose appointment was finalised violating the Assembly rules, the party has alleged.
Owaisi was appointed as pro-tem Speaker though there were other senior members in the House, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy alleged.
"There is a tradition of a senior person being appointed as the pro-tem Speaker in the Assembly. The BJP opposes the appointment of AIMIM's Akbaruddin Owaisi as pro-tem Speaker as per an understanding (of Congress) with AIMIM," Reddy told reporters.
Observing that Congress has only a wafer-thin majority in the Assembly, he claimed that the government is faced with a situation of collapsing even for a small pretext. In view of this, the AIMIM member is made the pro-tem Speaker as per a plan, he alleged.
"Because of the violation of the legislative assembly's rules, we are opposing the appointment of the AIMIM person as the pro-tem Speaker. Therefore, our members are boycotting from taking oath with him in the chair," he said.
The Congress has begun its appeasement politics and violation of the traditions of legislative assembly just three days after assuming power, Reddy alleged.
He pointed out that the BJP has already claimed that there is a tacit understanding between Congress and AIMIM.
During the recent election campaign, it was alleged (by Congress) that the BJP and AIMIM were one.
Now, Telangana people should know on what criteria Owaisi has been made as pro-tem Speaker in violation of rules, Reddy said.
The true colours of Congress have come out again, he added.
The BJP would like the election of Speaker to be held after the appointment of a senior member as pro-tem Speaker. The party would take up the issue with the Governor, he said.
The BJP MLAs would take oath after the regular Speaker assumes office, Reddy said.

Vishwas was earlier suspended after the incident at Paralkot weir came to light.

The Chhattisgarh government has imposed a fine of Rs 53,092 on an official who allegedly drained out 41 lakh litres of water from a reservoir to retrieve his mobile phone.
The Water Resources department imposed the fine on Rajesh Vishwas, a food inspector posted in Pakhanjore area of Kanker district, an official said on Tuesday.
Vishwas was earlier suspended after the incident at Paralkot weir came to light.
In a letter to him, the department said he drained out water from the cistern of a waste weir using a diesel pump without seeking permission from the competent authority after his mobile phone fell into it.
This act was illegal under the Chhattisgarh Irrigation Act, it said.

Mohan Nayak N, the 11th accused in the murder of journalist Gauri Lankesh, has been granted bail by the High Court of Karnataka.
The allegation against Nayak was that "he had conspired with the other accused persons to commit the murder of deceased Gauri Lankesh and in furtherance of such conspiracy, he had taken a house for rent at Ramanagara in an isolated place and had given shelter in the said house to accused number 2 &amp; 3 who are the actual assailants in the present case."
He is the first accused in the case to obtain bail, which was granted by the single judge bench of Justice S Vishwajith Shetty.
One of the grounds on which Nayak was granted bail was the delay in the trial.
"In the present case, out of 527 charge sheet witnesses, only 90 witnesses have been examined. This Court on 11.02.2019 directed the Trial Court to expedite the trial. Though charges were framed in the present case on 30.10.2021, for the last more than two years, only 90 witnesses have been examined. There are more than 400 charge sheet witnesses who are yet to be examined in the case.
Even if it is assumed that all the witnesses mentioned in the charge sheet may not be examined in the case, considering the fact that only 90 witnesses have been examined for the last more than two years, it can be safely presumed that any time soon, the trial of the case may not be completed," the HC said in its judgement.
Nayak is in custody since July 18, 2018.
Gauri was murdered outside her residence in Bengaluru on September 5, 2017 by bike-borne men. The police arrested a total of 17 men in connection with the case and claim that Gauri's murder was connected to the murder of Kannada writer M M Kalburgi and those of Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar in Maharashtra.

Eight people, including a child, were charred to death in their SUV after it was hit by an oncoming truck and caught fire in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, police said on Sunday.
The driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle after it suffered a tyre puncture. It jumped the barrier onto other side of the road and was hit by the truck coming from the opposite direction, they said.
The accident occurred late on Saturday near the Dubhaura village on the Bareilly-Nainital Road, they added.
By the time the police reached the spot, the SUV was engulfed by the flames, the police said.
Superintendent of Police Sushil Chandrabhan confirmed the deaths of the eight people, including the child.

A 13-year-old domestic help was allegedly beaten up, bitten by a dog, and forced to strip by the members of the family she worked for in the Sector 57 area, police said on Saturday.
According to the complaint filed by the girl's mother, the lady of the house where the girl worked often beat her with an iron rod and a hammer, while her two sons made her strip, videographed her nude, and touched her inappropriately, police said.
The girl, who was held captive in a room with her mouth taped, was freed on Saturday by her mother and her employer.
The mother in her complaint said that her daughter was given food only once in 48 hours and had her mouth taped so she could not raise an alarm, said police.
Her employers used to pour acid on her hands and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the ordeal, read the FIR filed at the Sector 51 Women Police Station.
The Bihar native said she had got her daughter a job at the house of Shashi Sharma, a resident of Sector 57, with the help of a person who cleans vehicles in a nearby area on June 27.
The girl was offered a stay with them and Rs 9,000 in monthly salary, a sum the mother got for only the first two months.
"I went to meet my daughter several times but was neither allowed to meet her nor talk to her on the phone," said the victim's mother.
She said she could file the complaint only with the help of her employer, who accompanied her to her daughter's employers' house and freed her.
Following the complaint, Shashi Sharma and her two sons were booked under charges of cruelty to animals, causing hurt, outraging modesty of women, and criminal intimidation.
The three were also booked under the Section 10 of POCSO Act, and Section 75 of Juvenile Justice Act, said police.&nbsp;
