PM Modi meets U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris, says she is an inspiration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House on Thursday during which the two leaders reinforced the strategic partnership between the two countries and discussed issues of mutual and global interest.

Harris described India as a "very important partner" to the US and welcomed New Delhi's announcement that it will soon resume vaccine export. India stopped the export of Covid-19 vaccines after the second wave of the pandemic hit the country in April this year.

Prime Minister Modi thanked the U.S. govt for extending a helping hand when India was hit by the second wave of Covid-19.

He also expressed his admiration of Vice-President Harris and said that her win was an important and historic event. PM added that she was an inspiration to many people across the world.

The two leaders also spoke about the strong ties between India and U.S. and how the two countries are natural partners.
