Modi govt reacts to Australia's move to remove China-made surveillance cameras. Will India follow suit?

Weeks after Australia announced its decision to remove Chinese-made surveillance cameras from defence locations, the Narendra Modi government was asked about the development.

The Australian government recently said that it would remove CCTV cameras made by Chinese companies Hikvision and Dahua.

Asked about the development on 28 February 2023, India's minister of communications, electronics, and information technology said that "cyber security wings are already working on it".

"We should be able to counter any threat to India's security. Whatever threat comes, we should be able to counter it," Ashwini Vaishnaw said.
