Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked reporters who cover Parliament proceedings and said that it is also an emotional moment for them as the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha shift to the new Parliament complex.

'As we prepare to move to the new Parliament, I want to remember the journalists who have dedicated their entire careers to covering House proceedings. They have been life-long witnesses in a way. They gave minute-by-minute reports without modern-day technology. They reported on what happened inside,' he said.

He also praised them for being part of the country's development journey.

'I have seen reporters who may not be widely recognised, but their coverage of the Parliament can never be forgotten. These journalists used their power to not only report the news but deliver it in a way that India’s development-filled journey could be understood. To this day, I am surprised by the stories these journalists have to tell after spending years in the Parliament, ' he added.

'Their pens have been as strong as the walls of this Parliament. Leaving this historic Parliament is an emotional moment and I have no doubt the journalists would also be feeling the same emotion,' the prime minister said.
