Dr. Yadav stepped out and engaged warmly with the women vendors. During the interaction, he asked, &ldquo;How much worth of mangoes do you sell daily?&rdquo;
One of the mango sellers, Mrs. Basanti Tekam, was overjoyed by the unexpected visit and responded with enthusiasm: &ldquo;Sir, if we sit here from morning to evening, then mangoes worth 400 to 500 rupees get sold.&rdquo;
Noticing Mrs. Basanti&rsquo;s daughter standing nearby, the Chief Minister inquired about her education: &ldquo;Does this girl go to school?&rdquo; The mother replied, &ldquo;Yes Sir, she studies in the CM Rise School.&rdquo; Dr. Yadav responded with delight, saying, &ldquo;Oh! Daughter, now its name has been changed to Sandipani Vidyalaya.&rdquo;
He then bought mangoes from all the women vendors present and paid for the purchases himself. The Chief Minister and his wife distributed the mangoes affectionately among the children gathered around.
Taking time to interact with the young ones, Dr. Yadav asked their names and whether they attended school. Children like Umesh, Sakshi, and Riya replied, &ldquo;Yes Sir.&rdquo;
Encouraging them, Dr. Yadav advised the children to attend school regularly and study with commitment.

Madhya Pradesh Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel emphasized the need for collective action to eliminate sickle cell disease, stating that trust, cooperation, and joint efforts are essential.&nbsp;
He was addressing the state-level conference held in Barwani on the occasion of World Sickle Cell Day. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav joined the event virtually from Indore.&nbsp;
During the programme, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla read out a message from President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and a citation recognizing the Madhya Pradesh government's efforts toward sickle cell eradication.
Golden Era of Tribal Welfare
Highlighting the government&rsquo;s focus on tribal welfare, Governor Shri Patel said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi&rsquo;s leadership has ushered in a golden era for the tribal population.
&ldquo;Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a dedicated and sensitive personality towards the welfare and empowerment of tribal life,&rdquo; he said.
He appreciated the ongoing efforts under the Sickle Cell Eradication Mission and congratulated the state team for their commendable work.
Mantra for Eradication of Sickle Cell
Underlining the importance of awareness, Governor Shri Patel said that genetic card comparison before marriage, testing during pregnancy, and newborn screening within 72 hours of birth are crucial steps.
&ldquo;Awareness is most necessary for the eradication of sickle cell,&rdquo; he said.
He also advised patients to follow a healthy routine and urged parents to support children affected by the disease.
Appeal for Cooperation from Tribal Representatives
As a member of the tribal community himself, Governor Patel appealed to tribal representatives to participate actively in awareness campaigns.
He also urged the media to play a role in spreading information about the disease.
&ldquo;I appeal to the representatives of the community to continuously, actively, and sensitively cooperate in the awareness efforts,&rdquo; he said.
Youth Should Use Their Talent for Tribal Welfare
Governor Patel encouraged youth, especially medical students from the tribal community, to contribute through research and local awareness drives.
&ldquo;Use their knowledge and talent for the welfare and development of their community,&rdquo; he said, suggesting integration of awareness into educational curricula and institutional activities.
1 Crore 6 Lakh Citizens Screened in State: CM Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted that the state has screened over 1.06 crore citizens under the National Sickle Cell Eradication Mission&ndash;2047.
&ldquo;In our society, there is a tradition of matching horoscopes before marriage. Now the time has come that along with the horoscope, the bride and groom&rsquo;s &lsquo;Sickle Cell Genetic Card&rsquo; must also be matched,&rdquo; he said.
He added that the mission is not just about health but also social and economic upliftment, with interventions at screening, management, counseling, and awareness levels.
Dr. Yadav announced a new medical college in Khargone and mentioned he had intended to attend the event in person but was unable due to inclement weather.
Governor Patel Has Conducted Awareness Campaign at National Level
The Chief Minister praised Governor Patel for taking the campaign to a national level, especially benefiting tribal communities.
&ldquo;Sickle cell disease is creating social and economic crises in tribal areas,&rdquo; he said.
He noted the significant screening in Barwani district and the appointment of &lsquo;Sickle Friends&rsquo; for localized outreach. A specialized testing unit has also been established at AIIMS Bhopal.
Food Processing Units Being Opened in Tribal Areas
In his address, the Chief Minister outlined developmental initiatives including irrigation projects, food processing units, and agricultural fairs. Farmers are receiving support through government procurement and subsidized solar pumps.
&ldquo;To increase farmers' income, efforts are ongoing at all levels to encourage milk production in the state,&rdquo; he said.
Approval of Promotion Pending for 9 Years of Government Employees/Officers
Dr. Yadav spoke on efforts to improve education, housing, and employment.
Promotions pending for nine years have been approved, clearing the way for recruitment on nearly two lakh posts. &ldquo;Bicycles, scooters, and laptops are being distributed to meritorious students,&rdquo; he added, emphasizing education reforms.
Ladli Sisters Will Receive Additional ₹250 on Rakshabandhan
The Chief Minister announced a ₹250 additional transfer for Ladli Sisters next month as part of Rakshabandhan celebrations. He also mentioned a ₹22 crore fund for Ekatma Dham and the implementation of prohibition in 19 religious towns.
&ldquo;A campaign is ongoing to economically empower sisters and daughters,&rdquo; he said.
Governor Patel Releases Guidelines for Sickle Cell Management
Governor Patel inaugurated the event with traditional rituals including lamp lighting and girl worship. He was welcomed with tributes reflecting tribal heritage by various dignitaries.
Deputy CM Rajendra Shukla read out President Murmu&rsquo;s message and shared state performance figures: &ldquo;Madhya Pradesh completed 97 lakh screenings, leading the nation. So far, screening of 1 crore 6 lakh citizens has been done.&rdquo;
He also announced a new 100-day screening campaign starting July 1, aiming to cover 1.4 crore citizens. Over 2 lakh carriers and nearly 30,000 patients have been identified. &ldquo;We will leave no stone unturned for the eradication of sickle cell,&rdquo; said Shri Shukla.
Union Ministers Emphasize Public Participation
Skill Development Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal called for holistic public participation in fighting the disease. &ldquo;Everyone must come forward in this fight,&rdquo; he said.
Union Minister of State Smt. Savitri Thakur encouraged testing: &ldquo;All citizens should take a pledge to completely eradicate sickle cell anemia. Do not hesitate, definitely get tested.&rdquo;
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Scheduled Tribes Commission Chairman Shri Antar Singh Arya, Minister Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, MPs, Rajya Sabha members, and Padma Shri awardee Mahesh Sharma. Some joined virtually from Indore.

A total of 1,067 Bharia tribal families residing in the remote forested areas of Chhindwara district have been allotted permanent concrete houses under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Awas Yojana.
The scheme aims to ensure dignified housing for tribal communities living in far-flung regions.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hailed the initiative and said, &ldquo;This scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with a commitment to the upliftment of tribal communities, will be implemented in full across Madhya Pradesh.&rdquo;
To ensure efficient implementation in remote blocks such as Chaurai, Harrai, Tamia, Amarwara, Junnardev, and Parasia, the district administration adopted an innovative method of collective material procurement, leading to a savings of nearly ₹1 crore.
Overcoming Geographic and Logistical Barriers
Chhindwara district was assigned a target of 5,825 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Janman Abhiyan. However, executing the plan in regions located 100&ndash;125 kilometers from the district headquarters proved challenging. Beneficiaries often faced inflated prices and substandard quality of construction materials due to the remoteness of the villages, deterring many from completing their homes.
In response, Collector Sheelendra Singh took proactive steps, visiting the affected areas with officials, directly engaging with beneficiaries, and facilitating open discussions with local authorities and stakeholders. Through this collaborative approach, the administration was able to secure high-quality materials at affordable rates.
Bulk Supply Model Yields Significant Savings
By partnering directly with district-level wholesalers, the administration fixed rates for essential materials such as cement, bricks, ballast, and iron rods. These supplies were delivered in bulk to villages, with prices ranging from ₹2 to ₹55 lower than the local market. This strategy minimized transportation costs and ensured timely delivery, enabling faster construction.
The result: a total saving of ₹99,21,443 across 1,067 families&mdash;averaging ₹9,298 per household. Currently, 1,052 houses have been completed, and construction of the remaining 508 is underway.
Empowering Beneficiaries, Eliminating Middlemen
This streamlined model not only facilitated cost efficiency but also protected beneficiaries from exploitation by middlemen. &ldquo;The innovative approach not only played a crucial role in achieving the targets under the scheme but also freed the beneficiaries from the exploitation of middlemen who used to deceive them,&rdquo; a district official noted.
Buoyed by the success of the initiative, the district administration plans to replicate this model for upcoming housing projects under the scheme.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the Sadanira Samagam, a key event under the Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, at Bharat Bhavan on June 20 at 6 PM.&nbsp;
The programme will be presided over by Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, and Religious Trusts and Endowments.
The event will open with the screening of the short film Sadanira, directed by Rishikesh Pandey. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will also unveil a collection of publications, including Sadanira, Prithvi Pani Ka Desh Hai..., Amrit Jaldhara (a four-volume set), and Jal Dhara.&nbsp;
These have been published by the Veer Bharat Trust, the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, and the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Folk Art and Dialect Development Academy.
Among the dignitaries attending will be Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain and Principal Secretary of Culture and Tourism Shri Sheoshekhar Shukla.
Highlighting the uniqueness of the event, Chief Minister&rsquo;s Cultural Advisor and Trustee Secretary of Veer Bharat Nyas, Shri Shriram Tiwari, said, &ldquo;Sadanira Samagam is the only festival in the country dedicated to promoting and preserving rivers, water sources, and traditional water structures through a wide range of activities.&rdquo;&nbsp;
He further added, &ldquo;For the first time, more than 200 scientists, archaeologists, litterateurs, writers, journalists, film actors, and theater artists from diverse fields&mdash;including literature, art, and science&mdash;will come together to participate in this unique event.&rdquo;
Over 200 celebrities will unite for the first time in India to conserve water structures Bharat Bhavan to host ideological and cultural programmes until June 25, 2025.
Emphasizing the spirit of the event, Shri Tiwari noted, &ldquo;Sadanira Samagam is not just a festival, but a collective effort to express gratitude and raise awareness about our rivers, water culture, and life-giving water streams.&rdquo; He added that the event carries an important message: &ldquo;Rivers are not merely physical sources of water but represent our cultural heritage, spiritual foundation, and collective consciousness.&rdquo;
The festival will bring the story of rivers to life through various mediums, including exhibitions, musical performances, dance, literature, and public dialogue.&nbsp;
A special screening of Raga of River Narmada, produced by Madhya Pradesh Madhyam and directed by Rajendra Jangle, will be one of the highlights.&nbsp;
Cultural performances will include Sound of River, a poetic-musical collaboration by Smita Nagdev and Rahul Sharma, and Hum Nava, a dance drama choreographed by renowned artist Vidushi Sharma Bhate from Pune.
Exhibitions Showcasing Aquatic and Water Heritage
As part of the Samagam, the Department of Public Relations, Madhya Pradesh will organize a thematic exhibition on Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan. A major component will be a photo display curated by the Department of Archaeology, Archives, and Museums, capturing the state's legacy of ancient water conservation, including stepwells and traditional water systems.
In addition, an exhibition titled Jalchar, focusing on aquatic biodiversity, will be presented with the support of the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Barkatullah University, and the Regional Natural Science Museum, Bhopal.
Another visual attraction will be Amritasya Narmada, a photographic tribute to the Narmada Parikrama by veteran photographer Shri Rajendra Jangle, offering audiences a visual journey along the sacred river&rsquo;s banks.

Madhya Pradesh emerges as a top travel destination in 2024 with 134.1 million tourists, driven by spiritual hubs like Ujjain, rich heritage sites, thriving wildlife reserves, rural charm, and growing film tourism appeal.

In a historic milestone, Madhya Pradesh attracted 134.1 million (13.41 crore) visitors in 2024, an impressive 19.6% increase over 2023, a 50.6% jump from pre-pandemic levels, and a staggering 526% rise since 2020.
Branded as &ldquo;Incredible Madhya Pradesh&rdquo;, the state&rsquo;s diverse offerings in spiritual, heritage, wildlife, rural, urban, and film tourism are drawing unprecedented attention.
&ldquo;Madhya Pradesh offers a complete travel experience with its rich culture, diverse ecology, and robust infrastructure. The impressive rise in tourist footfall is a testament to strategic planning, community participation, and impactful policy implementation,&rdquo; said Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, Tourism and MD of the MP Tourism Board.
Religious Tourism Leads with Over 107 Million Visitors
Spiritual destinations remained the primary attraction, drawing more than 107 million pilgrims. Ujjain led the way with 73.2 million visitors, driven by the Mahakal Lok corridor. Other pilgrimage hot spots&mdash;such as Chitrakoot, Maihar, Amarkantak, Omkareshwar, and Salkanpur&mdash;also saw strong growth.
Major projects like Omkareshwar Mahalok, Shri Ram Van Gaman Path, Devi Lok, and Hanuman Lok are further enhancing spiritual tourism infrastructure.
Heritage Tourism Rises 25%
Madhya Pradesh also saw a healthy 25% increase in heritage tourism, welcoming over 800,000 visitors in key sites.
Gwalior, recently recognized as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, experienced a threefold surge in tourism to over 900,000 visitors. Khajuraho attracted 489,000, Bhojpur 359,000, and Maheshwar 135,000.
The state now boasts 18 UNESCO-recognized sites, including the iconic Khajuraho Temple Complex, Bhimbetka Caves, and Sanchi Stupa.
Wildlife and Nature Tourism Thrive
Wildlife tourism surged, with 1.4 million visits across national parks like Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, Panna, and Kuno. The cheetah reintroduction at the Kuno sanctuary garnered global acclaim.
Known as the "Tiger, Leopard, Vulture, Gharial, and Cheetah State," Madhya Pradesh is home to 12 national parks, 25 wildlife sanctuaries, and 9 tiger reserves.
Nature destinations like Pachmarhi, Bhedaghat, Amarkantak, Sailani Island, and Gandhi Sagar offered trekking, boating, glamping, and other eco-adventures&mdash;drawing over 287,000 tourists to Pachmarhi alone.
Rural Tourism Blossoms
Rural tourism is gaining momentum with 63 villages now developed and over 470 homestays welcoming around 24,000 guests. Areas near Pachmarhi, Kanha, and Amarkantak are popular for authentic cultural experiences.
Chanderi&rsquo;s handloom village in Pranpur has achieved international recognition, while tribal arts like Gond, Bhil, and Mandana are thriving.
Film Tourism and Cinema
Film tourism is emerging as a unique draw. Chanderi hosted shoots for "Stree 2," attracting 47,630 visitors. Maheshwar welcomed 1.35 million tourists and numerous filming teams.
The film "Homebound" was screened at Cannes. The new Film Policy&ndash;2025 and a Tourism Facilitation Cell boosted interest, with popular projects like Stree, Sui Dhaga, Dabangg 2, Padman, Panchayat, and Maharani utilizing locations like Khajuraho, Gwalior, and Mandu.
Urban Tourism Flourishes
Urban destinations too witnessed rapid growth&mdash;Indore attracted 10.2 million tourists, Jabalpur 2.3 million, and Bhopal 2.2 million in 2024.
Indore was once again ranked India&rsquo;s cleanest city in the Swachh Bharat Survey, reinforcing its reputation as a modern, smart tourism hub.
Increasing International Reach
Foreign tourism also saw a rise, with 167,000 international arrivals. Khajuraho led with 33,131 foreign visitors, followed by Orchha, Gwalior, Indore, Bhopal, and key wildlife sanctuaries.
Overall, Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s remarkable 526% growth since 2020 underscores its transformation into a multifaceted tourism powerhouse&mdash;offering spiritual solace, heritage wonders, wildlife safaris, rural immersion, cinematic charm, and modern urban charm.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is set to inaugurate a national workshop on the theme "Astronomy and Indian Knowledge Tradition" on Saturday, June 21, at the Varahamihira Astronomical Observatory in Dongla, Ujjain.
The event will bring together renowned scientists and academicians from across India.
A range of educational and scientific engagements will be held, including a yoga camp, zero shadow observation, science show, STEM workshop, lectures, and discussion sessions.
Exploring the relevance of Indian astronomy
The workshop aims to delve into the ancient Indian traditions of astronomy and their scientific significance. Experts will discuss ways to integrate Indian knowledge systems with modern science.
The initiative seeks to connect India&rsquo;s intellectual legacy with present-day advancements.
The workshop is being jointly hosted by several organizations including the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal Vijnana Bharati, Acharya Varahamihira Nyas (Ujjain), IIT Indore, Vikram University (Ujjain), Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy (Bhopal), and Veer Bharat Nyas.
Observing zero shadow and planetarium inauguration
During the programme, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav will witness the zero shadow phenomenon using a Shanku Yantra at the Padmashri Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar Observatory.
He will also inaugurate a newly constructed ultra-modern planetarium developed by Acharya Varahamihira Nyas with support from the Avada Foundation.
A planetarium show will also be showcased as part of the event. Dr. Yadav will deliver the inaugural address of the national workshop in the observatory auditorium, where experts will discuss astronomy and the Indian knowledge tradition.
Modern planetarium to engage rural youth
A state-of-the-art digital planetarium has been developed in Dongla village by Acharya Varahamihira Nyas, with financial assistance from the Avada Foundation and technical collaboration with Deep Sky Planetarium, Kolkata.
It is designed to educate rural communities and school children about astronomy and natural phenomena. The planetarium includes an 8-meter FRP dome, an E-Vision 4 digital projector, and a digital sound system. It is air-conditioned and can seat up to 55 people. The project cost is estimated at ₹1.6 crore.
Dongla&rsquo;s legacy in astronomy and education
Dongla, situated on the Tropic of Cancer in Mahidpur tehsil of Ujjain, has long held cultural importance in astronomy and astrology. In 2013, the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology set up the Varahamihira Astronomical Observatory here to promote the country&rsquo;s rich intellectual traditions.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav played a key role in the observatory&rsquo;s conceptualization and development. Technical support was provided by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (Bangalore) and ARIES (Nainital).
Advancing research and outreach
The observatory houses a 20-inch telescope within a 5-meter dome, supporting astronomical research and activities. It serves as a hub for students, researchers, and educators. A Winter School on astronomy is also hosted here.
Under the &ldquo;Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat&rdquo; scheme, students from other states visit the site. Recently, IIT Indore upgraded the telescope with automation features.
The initiative aligns with the New Education Policy and the National Space Policy, enabling students from remote areas to access the observatory online.
Preserving ancient instruments and developing DMT
The Padmashri Dr. Vishnu Shridhar Wakankar Observatory in Dongla continues to preserve ancient Indian astronomical instruments.
This effort is a step towards developing Dongla as a hub of &ldquo;Dongla Mean Time (DMT),&rdquo; representing a fusion of traditional wisdom and modern science.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that rural tourism serves as a powerful tool for self-reliance and pride.
By encouraging tourism at the village level, local youth benefit from employment and economic development opportunities, while the state&rsquo;s rich cultural traditions, festivals, and cuisine gain national and global recognition.
He noted that the growing network of home-stays in the state reflects the Indian value of &ldquo;Atithi Devo Bhava.&rdquo;
&ldquo;It is the effort of the home-stay operators and the state government that all guests visiting the state carry with them a positive image and pleasant memories,&rdquo; the Chief Minister said.
Various departments, including Panchayat and Rural Development and Tribal Affairs, are working in tandem to promote rural tourism.
Dr. Yadav also spoke about India&rsquo;s long-standing pilgrimage traditions, explaining that while global tourists seek recreation, Indians embark on spiritual journeys like Char Dham to uphold Sanatan values and explore diverse regional lifestyles.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said the PM fosters a spirit of mutual trust in line with Indian values, and despite global challenges, India continues to progress.
CM Yadav was speaking at the 'Gramin Rang Paryatan Sang' event held at Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, which he inaugurated with a ceremonial lamp lighting.
Website launch for Responsible Tourism Mission, Exhibition visit
During the event, CM Dr. Yadav visited an exhibition featuring rural tourism initiatives by various districts. He also tried his hand at clay artistry and launched a microsite for the Responsible Tourism Mission of the MP Tourism Board. Additionally, he virtually inaugurated 241 village home-stays across the state.
MOUs signed to promote tourism
Several MoUs were exchanged at the event to boost tourism infrastructure. An agreement with Signify will bring LED and solar lighting to 61 villages. Other MoUs were signed with Scope Global Skill University and MPSEDC, covering film production, digital outreach, and promotion of rural tourism.
Tourism to benefit from Wellness Summit
CM Yadav announced that helicopter services will soon be introduced for tourists, modeled after similar initiatives in Uttarakhand.
A dedicated wellness summit is also planned to enhance services related to wildlife, spiritual, and health tourism, thereby strengthening Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s medical tourism footprint.
He praised promotional films made by the Tourism Board and called for a fresh action plan for their utilization. "Madhya Pradesh will not only achieve top position in India but also in the world in the field of tourism," he added.
CM Dr. Yadav interacts with home-stay operators
Dr. Yadav recognized the efforts of district collectors from Narmadapuram, Agar, Chhatarpur, Niwari, Morena, Sehore, Sidhi, and Panna for achieving 100% home-stay construction targets. He also presented appreciation certificates to sarpanches and institutional representatives from 16 gram panchayats.
He interacted directly with home-stay operators from districts such as Chhindwara, acknowledging their role in boosting rural tourism across 37 districts.
526% increase in number of tourists
Highlighting growth in tourism, the Chief Minister noted that Madhya Pradesh witnessed a 526% increase in tourist footfall in 2024 compared to 2020. National parks like Kanha, Pench, and Bandhavgarh have drawn significant numbers.
&ldquo;These three parks are among the top five national parks in the country. Kanha has received the top spot among the country&rsquo;s national parks,&rdquo; he said.
With the state home to India&rsquo;s highest tiger population, CM Yadav expressed pride in Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s biodiversity. He lauded the launch of 241 home-stays at prominent tourist sites like Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench, offering visitors exposure to traditional food, music, and local culture.
Target to build 1000 home-stays in state
Tourism and Culture Minister Mr. Dharmendra Bhavsingh Lodhi shared that over 13.41 crore tourists visited the state last year. He said that under CM Yadav's leadership, 121 villages have been chosen and 241 home-stays have been developed, with a goal to reach 1,000.
Villages like Madla (Panna), Ladpura Khas (Niwari), and Khas (Sidhi) have earned national acclaim as model tourism villages. &ldquo;Our goal is to promote village tourism so that every villager becomes self-reliant and Madhya Pradesh becomes number one in tourism in the country,&rdquo; said Lodhi.
Facilities for differently-abled at tourist destinations
Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is leading in tourism innovation, with efforts like home-stays bringing inclusive growth. "Home-stay is an innovative effort to accelerate tourism," he noted.
Responsible Tourism Mission and inclusive development
Tourism Principal Secretary Mr. Shiv Shekhar Shukla elaborated on the Responsible Tourism Mission&rsquo;s initiatives. The mission includes building home-stays, offering hospitality training, and boosting handicraft production through self-help groups.
&ldquo;Ten thousand women have been given hospitality training,&rdquo; he said, adding that artisans&rsquo; products are gaining popularity among tourists and luxury hotels alike.
The state is also ensuring accessibility for differently-abled tourists, and CSR funds are being used to maintain cleanliness at key sites.
The event was attended by senior ministers, officials, and local leaders, reflecting a coordinated push toward inclusive rural tourism development.

In a major policy breakthrough, the Madhya Pradesh government has approved the long-pending Public Service Promotion Rules, marking the end of a nine-year delay.
The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav at the Mantralaya in Bhopal on Tuesday.
The newly approved rules ensure representation and protection of the interests of reserved categories, with 20% reservation for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 16% for Scheduled Castes (SC).
Promotions for SC and ST public servants will now also be based on merit, aligning with both equity and performance-based governance.
Highlighting the significance of the decision, CM Yadav shared on social media platform X, "Today, in the cabinet meeting, the matter of promotion of employees and officers of the state, which was pending for 9 years, was resolved. In this, the interests of employees and officers of all categories, including SC-ST, have been taken care of. Through this, after promotion, 2 lakh posts will be vacant in government services and there will be a possibility of fresh recruitment on these."

With the implementation of the new promotion rules, the government anticipates nearly two lakh vacancies opening up, paving the way for fresh recruitment across departments.
In another key decision, the cabinet approved the establishment of 459 new Anganwadi Centres in special tribal areas under the 'Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0' scheme, as part of the PM-JANMAN program. This move includes the creation of 459 honorary posts for Anganwadi Workers, 459 for Anganwadi Helpers, and 26 regular supervisory roles.
The project, which spans from FY 2025&ndash;26 to 2030&ndash;31, has a total estimated cost of ₹143.46 crore. Of this, ₹72.78 crore will be contributed by the Centre, while the remaining ₹70.68 crore will come from the state government.
The cabinet also cleared a major investment in the state's power infrastructure. A total estimated expenditure of ₹5,163 crore was approved for the ongoing and upcoming capital projects of the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited (MPPTCL) for the period 2025&ndash;26 to 2029&ndash;30. The funding pattern includes 20% equity from the state government and 80% as loans from financial institutions or banks.
Additionally, the council of ministers approved the establishment of new District Treasuries in the recently formed districts of Pandhurna, Maihar, and Mauganj, aimed at strengthening local administrative efficiency.

In a significant push towards inclusive and sustainable development, the Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with four reputed non-governmental organisations (NGOs) &mdash; Antra Foundation, Pradan, PHIA Foundation, and UN Women.
The MoU exchange took place at the state Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
&ldquo;These MoUs will strengthen the planned, inclusive, gross, and sustainable development of the state,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav said during the ceremony.
Emphasising the transformative impact of welfare schemes, the Chief Minister noted that the state's social landscape is undergoing rapid change. &ldquo;By taking advantage of government schemes, everyone is moving rapidly towards positive change in their lives,&rdquo; he stated.&nbsp;
He further said that collaboration with NGOs having subject expertise will help improve human and social development indicators.
&ldquo;To achieve continuous improvement in all social development indicators and to ensure everyone benefits from development, the government will also utilize the experience of NGOs,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav said.&nbsp;
He also stressed on field feedback: &ldquo;Serious efforts will be made to implement the suggestions received from field-working NGOs.&rdquo; He urged for close coordination between the Policy Commission, public representatives, and district administration to maximise public benefit.
The MP State Policy Commission is currently leading the charge in tracking progress on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in drafting the Madhya Pradesh Vision Document-2047. Through these new partnerships, the state aims to boost policy innovation, promote data-driven governance, and accelerate multi-sectoral progress.
Each of the four NGOs will contribute in their respective areas of expertise. Antra Foundation will focus on maternal and child health and nutrition. Pradan will support rural development and women&rsquo;s empowerment. PHIA Foundation will act as a knowledge partner for climate-resilient and inclusive development, while UN Women will advance gender-responsive governance across the state.
&ldquo;These partnerships will accelerate the achievement of global goals such as poverty eradication and livelihood development, health and welfare, gender equality, access to clean water for all, reducing inequality, water security including watershed structures, and climate development-based actions,&rdquo; the government stated. It added that these efforts will be instrumental in fulfilling the objectives of Vision 2047.
Senior state officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning, Economic and Statistics) Sanjay Kumar Shukla, and CEO of MP State Policy Commission Rishi Garg, were present at the event. Representatives from each of the partnering NGOs also attended, including Ms. Chandrika from Antra Foundation, Ms. Archana Singh from Pradan, Mr. Aniruddha from PHIA Foundation, and Ms. Joytry from UN Women.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the Madhya Pradesh government will procure moong and urad at Minimum Support Price (MSP) to support farmers.
Procurement of moong will take place in 36 producing districts at ₹8,682 per quintal, while urad will be procured in 13 districts at ₹7,400 per quintal.&nbsp;
Farmers can register from June 19 to July 6, and procurement will be carried out between July 7 and August 6. Dr. Yadav shared these details during an address to Cabinet Ministers ahead of the cabinet meeting at the Mantralaya on Tuesday.
He also highlighted the government&rsquo;s ongoing efforts to boost investment in the state. &ldquo;As part of this, a major wellness-focused event was recently organized in Ujjain on the occasion of Ganga Dashami,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;
He further added that a regional industries and employment summit will be held in Ratlam on MSME Day (June 27), followed by a national interactive session on MSMEs in Ludhiana on July 7.
Providing an update on infrastructure projects, Dr. Yadav stated, &ldquo;The inauguration of the first phase of the Bhopal Metro is scheduled for September. A request will be made to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to inaugurate the metro.&rdquo;
He also shared that on Raksha Bandhan, Ladli Behna beneficiaries will receive an additional ₹250 payment.
Speaking about the upcoming International Yoga Day, Dr. Yadav said, &ldquo;This year marks the completion of a decade of the event.&rdquo;
To celebrate, a large-scale &ldquo;Yog Sangam&rdquo; program will be organized on June 21, with efforts underway to set a national record by conducting yoga sessions across the maximum number of urban bodies, wards, and panchayats in the state.
On tourism, the Chief Minister shared that the state has seen a substantial increase.
"Madhya Pradesh witnessed a 19.6% increase in tourism within a year. In 2024, a total of 13.41 crore tourists visited the state, which is 19.6% higher compared to 2023. This included 1.67 lakh foreign tourists,&rdquo; he said.
He emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a leading tourism destination in the country.
Dr. Yadav concluded by urging ministers to assess the performance of welfare schemes managed by their departments and to offer suggestions for improving their impact and effectiveness.

Madhya Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is actively implementing Prime Minister Narendra Modi&rsquo;s vision of empowering farmers, youth, women, and the poor while integrating nature, environmental protection, and water conservation into a mission-mode initiative.&nbsp;
The state is currently experiencing a &ldquo;water revolution&rdquo; through the ambitious Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan, which has already exceeded its targets for constructing farm ponds, Amrit Sarovars, and dugwell recharge pits.&nbsp;
These initiatives are not only expanding irrigation coverage but are also helping improve groundwater levels and create sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.
Early Planning with Modern Software
The state&rsquo;s proactive approach began with the MANREGA Council initiating planning efforts as early as January and February. Using the Planner software, officials were able to efficiently develop gram panchayat-level plans with minimal data entry.
The new projects under the Jal Ganga campaign, along with pending works from the previous year, were seamlessly integrated. Madhya Pradesh became the first state in India to introduce this forward-thinking system.
SIPRI Software for Site Selection
To enhance scientific accuracy in identifying ideal locations for water structures, the Council developed the SIPRI (Software for Identification and Planning of Rural Infrastructure) tool.
Built in collaboration with MPSEDC and ISRO, this GIS-based software pinpoints optimal sites for constructing farm ponds, Amrit Sarovars, and recharge pits.
The success of this initiative has attracted attention from states like Bihar, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra, whose teams have visited Madhya Pradesh to study the model.
Real-Time Monitoring with Dashboard
In a move toward transparency and efficiency, the state launched a real-time public dashboard: https://dashboard.nregsmp.org/report_jsm.
This portal provides live updates on project progress, fund utilization, and weekly status reports sent to district collectors. So far, more than 1.27 lakh people have accessed the dashboard to monitor the campaign&rsquo;s progress.
Campaign Duration and Progress
Launched on March 30 from Ujjain by CM Dr. Yadav, the campaign will conclude on June 30 in Khandwa.
As of June 21, the campaign has already surpassed its original goals. &ldquo;During Campaign, 82,310 Farm Ponds (Target-77,940), 1,03,000 Dugwell Recharge Pits (Target-1,03,900), 1,283 Amrit Sarovars (Target: 992) were constructed.
Additionally, 19,949 older projects have been completed.&rdquo; All of these projects have been executed under MANREGA with an overall expenditure of ₹2,334 crore.
Massive Public Participation: 2.3 Lakh Jaldoots Registered
In a strong show of community involvement, Madhya Pradesh had initially set a goal of registering 1.62 lakh Jaldoots&mdash;water conservation volunteers. That figure has now risen to an impressive 2.3 lakh, reflecting the public&rsquo;s enthusiastic response.
AI, SIPRI, and Planner Software: Used First Time in Water Conservation
Madhya Pradesh has become a pioneer in deploying artificial intelligence alongside SIPRI and Planner software for water conservation efforts.
&ldquo;For the first time, AI, SIPRI and Planner software have been deployed for constructing farm ponds, Amrit Sarovars and recharge pits. This has enabled timely completion of targets with a focus on quality.&rdquo;
Data gathered from the dashboard is analyzed using AI and then shared with officials via WhatsApp, enabling real-time comparison of district-wise performance and helping fine-tune implementation strategies.
Other states are now exploring this model for their own use.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital on Monday and briefed him on various developmental schemes and welfare programs being carried out in the state.&nbsp;
Dr. Yadav also extended formal invitations to the Prime Minister to visit Madhya Pradesh for the inauguration and foundation-laying of multiple infrastructure and social welfare projects.
During the meeting, CM Yadav provided updates on the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, a major state-run water conservation campaign being conducted from March 30 to June 30.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Khandwa district ranked first in the country for groundwater storage and Madhya Pradesh was among the top four states in this field,&rdquo; he said. Highlighting the inspiration drawn from Gujarat&rsquo;s traditional water conservation methods, the Chief Minister invited the Prime Minister to virtually attend the closing ceremony of the campaign. &ldquo;The Prime Minister graciously accepted,&rdquo; he added.
The Chief Minister also presented a detailed overview of development programs targeted at what he termed the four core pillars of growth &mdash; the poor, youth, farmers and women.&nbsp;
He announced that a mega farmers&rsquo; convention is scheduled to be held in Sehore from October 12 to 14, which will focus on improving farmer incomes, promoting food processing units, and boosting agricultural industries. An invitation was extended to PM Modi to inaugurate the event.
Highlighting industrial growth, Dr. Yadav shared updates on the PM Mitra Textile Park being developed in the tribal district of Dhar with support from the Centre. He invited the Prime Minister for its foundation stone laying ceremony and the allocation of industrial zones. He also informed PM Modi that Bhopal Metro services are expected to begin by October this year and requested the Prime Minister&rsquo;s presence for the launch.
Addressing internal security, the Chief Minister spoke on the state&rsquo;s actions against Naxalism. &ldquo;More than 10 Naxalites carrying a combined reward of Rs. 1.62 crore have been neutralized in the last one and a half years,&rdquo; he informed. He noted that Naxal activity is now restricted to a tehsil-level area in Balaghat. &ldquo;Naxal activities will be completely eradicated in the state by March 2026,&rdquo; he assured, citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah&rsquo;s announcement.
On the administrative front, CM Yadav updated the Prime Minister on the resolution of a long-pending issue concerning promotions for state employees. &ldquo;New rules have been framed to benefit around five lakh employees and open avenues for the recruitment of over two lakh new posts,&rdquo; he said.
Dr. Yadav also spoke about Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s historic significance in timekeeping. &ldquo;3,000 years ago, time was calculated from Ujjain, the city of Mahakal,&rdquo; he said. Pointing to the shift of global time standards to Paris and later Greenwich during colonial rule, he mentioned that a new observatory has been established near Ujjain by the state&rsquo;s Department of Science and Technology. The observatory is envisioned as a future global center for time measurement. A Global Standard Time Conference is scheduled for January 2026, and PM Modi was invited to attend.
The Chief Minister further sought the Prime Minister&rsquo;s support for establishing national and international honours in the name of Samrat Vikramaditya, highlighting his legacy of good governance and republican ideals. He shared that a grand theatrical presentation on Vikramaditya&rsquo;s life has already been staged in multiple cities, with support from the Union Ministry of Culture.
Wrapping up the meeting, CM Yadav reaffirmed the state&rsquo;s alignment with national goals. &ldquo;The state government is working in full alignment with the central government&rsquo;s vision of &lsquo;Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas&rsquo;,&rdquo; he said.

Savitri Sisodia said she had been toiling for the past two years to find a diamond in a private mine in Chopra area unmindful of the scorching sun, dust and grime, adding that she firmly believed this stroke of luck would change her fortunes and that of her family.
This is a priceless gift of nature, she added.
Diamond Officer Anupam Singh, who inspected the stone and deposited it, said it would be put up for auction as per laid down rules.
"The amount received from the auction will be handed over to the woman after deducting government royalty and taxes," Singh said.

Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav highlighted Dr. Mookerjee&rsquo;s pivotal role in India&rsquo;s pre- and post-Independence political landscape.&nbsp;
&ldquo;There are a few great personalities who contributed before freedom as well as played a crucial role at the time of formation of Indian Constitution post Independence. Today, we are here to remember the contribution of one such personality Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee... Today I am satisfied that Prime Minister Narendra Modi removed Article 370... Dr Mookerjee made us realise that Jammu and Kashmir is our crown and we need to admire it. Today, we can see it... Let us remember the contribution of Dr Mookerjee and follow the path shown by his life,&rdquo; said CM Yadav.
Echoing similar sentiments, BJP state president VD Sharma paid tribute to Mookerjee&rsquo;s determination and sacrifice. &ldquo;Today we are remembering Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, who sacrificed his life in the journey from Bharatiya Jana Sangh to Bharatiya Janata Party... the then government had decided that there would be two rules in one nation through Article 370 and Mookerjee launched agitation against it, went to jail and formed Jana Sangh. He had died in Jail with a resolve to remove Article 370. Our party was formed due to the sacrifice of Mookerjee so, today is a resolution day for us. We are proud to say that PM Modi fulfilled Syama Prasad Mookerjee's resolution of Article 370 revocation,&rdquo; Sharma said.
He further added, &ldquo;On the death anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, we pay floral tribute to him and every party worker should resolve to follow the path shown by Mookerjee.&rdquo;
Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later evolved into the Bharatiya Janata Party. He served as the Minister for Industry and Supply in Jawaharlal Nehru&rsquo;s cabinet but resigned over the Delhi pact with Liaquat Ali Khan in 1950.&nbsp;
He went on to form the Bharatiya Jana Sangh on October 21, 1951, in Delhi. Mookerjee was arrested during a visit to Kashmir in 1953 and died under detention on June 23 of that year.

RISE 2025 Conclave to be organized under the leadership of MP CM Mohan Yadav in Ratlam

Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate infrastructure projects worth ₹350 crore and announce ₹1,500 crore in new investments during the RISE 2025 Conclave in Ratlam on June 27.

The RISE 2025 Conclave, set to take place on June 27 in Ratlam under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, is expected to mark a significant turning point in the development of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector in the state.
The conclave will see the Chief Minister performing the bhoomi pujan and inaugurating more than 35 industrial infrastructure projects, clusters, and departmental buildings, cumulatively worth over ₹350 crore.&nbsp;
Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for 50 new industrial units with proposed investments exceeding ₹1,500 crore. The state government sees the event as a major initiative to generate employment and boost entrepreneurship.
The Chief Minister will also distribute letters of intent and land allotment to 500 entrepreneurs, and hand over employment offer letters to 500 youths. As part of the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Training Programme, grants will be awarded to over 100 beneficiaries.
Key agreements are set to be signed with major national and international entities including the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and Walmart. These partnerships aim to boost MSME opportunities in areas such as exports, digital payments, and market accessibility.
As part of a major infrastructure push, bhoomi pujan will be conducted for eight industrial projects to be developed at a cost of ₹89.91 crore across 596 plots spanning 97.73 hectares. Eight industrial areas developed on 795 plots over 231.534 hectares at a cost of ₹152.21 crore will also be inaugurated.&nbsp;
Additionally, 15 industrial clusters being developed on private and departmental land, with a combined development cost of approximately ₹105 crore, will see bhoomi pujan.
A total of 32 medium-scale industrial units will be dedicated, with a capital investment of ₹858.74 crore, expected to create employment for over 2,000 individuals.
Further, new District Trade and Industry Centre buildings in Niwari, Agar Malwa, and Raisen, built at a cost of ₹4.22 crore, will be inaugurated during the event.
The conclave will also host an exhibition showcasing the products and innovations of over 100 MSME units, start-ups, and self-help groups from across the state. The exhibition is expected to serve as a vibrant platform to display Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s industrial diversity and entrepreneurial spirit.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mohan Yadav, the state government aims to provide renewed energy and identity to the industrial growth trajectory of not only Ratlam but the entire Madhya Pradesh.
