Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday accused the Congress of adopting double standards on Naxalism and said the BJP government has eradicated the problem from its roots.
The Congress believes only in the blame-game politics, and its previous governments had left problems like Naxalism to persist, Yadav told reporters in Indore. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; "During the (previous) Congress rule, Naxalism was a major problem in the state. We have eradicated this problem from its roots. Mandla, Balaghat, and Dindori districts is the state are almost free of Naxalism," he said. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
The CM noted that during the Congress rule in the state, Naxalites had killed a minister. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
"The root cause of the Naxalism problem was the then chief minister of the state, who even today expresses grief over the killing of (Naxalite commander) Madvi Hidma. This attitude reveals the double standards of the Congress party," he said without naming Digvijaya Singh. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
Yadav was sworn in as the 19th chief minister of Madhya Pradesh on December 13, 2023. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
Listing his government's achievements in the last two years, he said many steps have been taken for the welfare of women, farmers, youth, and economically weaker sections. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
The number of medical colleges in the state has doubled, and the industrial growth rate has surpassed the national average, the CM said. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;

Ten hardcore Naxalites carrying a collective bounty of Rs 2.36 crore have surrendered in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, prompting Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to declare Dindori and Mandla completely free from the Naxal influence.
The Naxalites, including four women, laid down their modern weapons, including AK-47 and INSAS rifles, in front of Yadav on Sunday. They were part of the 'Bhorsadev area committee' of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), officials said.
"Dindori and Mandla are now completely free from Naxal influence. A complete Naxal eradication campaign will begin in Balaghat from January. Those who return to the mainstream will get a rehabilitation package for 15 years, while strict action will continue against those who do not," Yadav said.

At the 'Punarvas Se Purnajeevan' (rehabilitation) event held at the Balaghat police lines, Yadav urged Naxalites to join the mainstream under the government's surrender policy and said the administration would ensure their rehabilitation.
"The government's rehabilitation policy is not just an announcement but a guarantee. Anyone who gives up violence and surrenders will get full opportunities for a dignified life, security and rehabilitation. The government's aim is to provide a safe future to every person who wants to walk the path of development and peace," he said.
Yadav said the government was committed to freeing Madhya Pradesh of Naxalism as per the target set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
"The time has come to give the last salute to 'Lal Salaam'. The campaign was to be completed by March 2026, but due to the indomitable courage of our security agencies and police, a roadmap has now been prepared to finish it by January 2026," he said, adding that no one would be permitted to pick up arms.
The 10 cadres who surrendered were members of the 'Bhoramdeo area committee' of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), officials said.
"They belonged to the new division KB of the Maharashtra-MP-Chhattisgarh (MMC) zone comprising Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla and the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary of Kawardha district in Chhattisgarh. It was led by ultra Sunder alias Kabir. MP shares borders with Gondia district of Maharashtra as well as Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh and Kawardha of Chhattisgarh," an official said.
"They had formed the GRB division comprising Gondia, Rajnandgaon and Balaghat. Chief Minister Yadav gave the surrendered Naxalites copies of the Constitution," the official added.
The surrendered cadres were identified as Sunder alias Kabir alias Soma (AK-47, bounty Rs 62 lakh), Rakesh Odo alias Bima, Samar alias Samru alias Raju (.303 rifle, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Salita alias Savita (SLR, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Vikram alias Hidma (bounty Rs 14 lakh) and Lalsing Madavi alias Seengoo (INSAS, bounty Rs 14 lakh).
The others were Shilpa (INSAS, bounty Rs 14 lakh), Zarina alias Jogi (bounty Rs 14 lakh), Jaysheela (single-shot gun, bounty Rs 14 lakh) and Naveen alias Hidma (single-shot gun, bounty Rs 14 lakh).
On the occasion, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana said new camps have been established by security personnel, while the anti-Naxal Hawk Force and police are being strengthened.
He said officers and personnel are being continuously encouraged. These actions have produced positive results.
"Surrenders are rising in Madhya Pradesh as well as other states. Efforts in employment and skill development had helped connect youth and citizens from Naxal-affected areas to the mainstream," the DGP added.

CM Yadav highlighted that the state government is actively working to promote religious tourism, with several sessions being held during the conclave to explore ways to enhance pilgrimage experiences. The event is organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board.
During the event, the Chief Minister and Union Minister released a book on spirituality titled Faith and Flow and held a roundtable discussion with representatives from institutions in the spiritual and wellness sectors.
Speaking to reporters, CM Yadav said, &ldquo;To promote religious tourism, Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has come to attend our major program on religious tourism here. Also, various trustees and directors from Tirupati Balaji, Shirdi Sai Baba, ISKCON International, and other such major institutions from across the country have come to this program. Our Madhya Pradesh government is working to promote religious tourism, and in this context, sessions will be held throughout the day on topics such as what kind of service activities can be undertaken, how to take care of the facilities for pilgrims etc. Our Union Tourism Minister has inaugurated the program.&rdquo;
He further praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that under his leadership, a new era of change and evolution has arrived across the country.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that with the blessings of Baba Mahakal, the upcoming Singhasth-2028 in Ujjain will surpass all previous records. Pilgrimage tourism will be further promoted in the city, and no effort will be spared in its development.
CM Dr. Yadav made the remarks while addressing the clay Ganesh idol distribution event organised by the Lokmanya Tilak Ganesh Utsav Maha-Ayojan Samiti in Ujjain on Wednesday. On the occasion, he extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on Ganesh Chaturthi.
At the start of the event, the Chief Minister performed worship of Lord Shri Ganesh. He said that in Indian culture, Shri Ganesh is revered as the first deity to be worshipped. &ldquo;Our tradition and nature give the message that there should be a clay Ganesh idol in every home,&rdquo; he added, noting that the deity is considered the giver of wisdom and success, ensuring the accomplishment of auspicious works.
CM Dr. Yadav also highlighted the celebration of clay Ganesh idols as part of a &lsquo;Swadeshi&rsquo; festival. &ldquo;This is a festival of joy, with the blessings of God, both the nation and the state are progressing, which is a matter of pride,&rdquo; he said. He further informed that Ujjain is undergoing continuous beautification work, including road construction and widening, the upcoming construction of flyovers, and a planned metro train connecting Pithampur, Indore, and Ujjain. He added that the Gopal Mandir Chowk will soon be expanded.
MLA Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda delivered the welcome address and briefed attendees about the event, stating that around 300 clay Ganesh idols are being distributed among various committees and organisations in the city.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was warmly welcomed by MLA Shri Jain, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and others, who also presented him with a Ganesh idol.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday said that Ujjain is the center of India&rsquo;s religious, cultural, and spiritual energy, with Baba Mahakal himself as the source.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Baba Mahakal is the eternal force that keeps the cosmos in motion. With Baba Mahakal&rsquo;s blessings, Ujjain has gained global fame as the best religious and spiritual destination, symbolising the Nation&rsquo;s deep faith and traditions,&rdquo; he said.
The Chief Minister made the remarks during the inaugural program of the second Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave &lsquo;रूहMantic&rsquo; at Hotel Anjushree, Ujjain, which he inaugurated alongside Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. Both leaders also released the book Faith and Flow during the event.
Ujjain&rsquo;s Historical Significance and Spiritual Tourism
&ldquo;The glorious Ujjain has a long history. After the inauguration of Shri Mahakal MahaLok by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Ujjain has attained worldwide recognition, attraction. Now, devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad are arriving in large numbers,&rdquo; CM Dr. Yadav said.
He highlighted Ujjain as the city of time calculation, noting that Sandipani Ashram was where Lord Shri Krishna gained knowledge. &ldquo;For self-realisation, there is no better place in than India. Today, India may have political boundaries, but religion and culture do not know any frontiers,&rdquo; he added.
The Chief Minister emphasised the role of spiritual tourism in public welfare: &ldquo;This conclave envisions public welfare through tourism and pilgrimage,&rdquo; and recalled that India&rsquo;s spiritual tourism has gained momentum under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He also praised the historic role of temples in shaping India&rsquo;s democratic and cultural identity: &ldquo;Our temples can also serve as the foundation of democracy.&rdquo;
Global Recognition and Development of Ujjain
Union Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said Ujjain&rsquo;s spiritual heritage is charting a new course for global spiritual tourism. &ldquo;The number of visitors that once came in an entire year, now arrive within just one to one-and-a-half weeks,&rdquo; he noted. Shri Shekhawat highlighted India&rsquo;s enduring cultural legacy, pilgrimage traditions, and the rise of domestic tourism, crediting PM Modi&rsquo;s leadership for positioning India as a global cultural hub.
Spiritual Guru Shri Dheer Gaur Das Prabhu observed that Ujjain is advancing rapidly with modern facilities and is on track to join other leading religious tourism destinations in India and worldwide. &ldquo;Spiritual tourism alone contributes 2.5% of India&rsquo;s GDP, and there is scope to increase this further,&rdquo; he said.
Preparations for Simhastha 2028 are underway, with new infrastructure including bridges, roads, and ghats being developed. Officials noted Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s rapid tourism growth, recording 110 million tourists in 2023 and 130 million in 2024, with Ujjain leading at 70 million visitors.
Collaborative Efforts and Future Plans
The conclave saw participation from ministers, MLAs, tourism officials, experts, and representatives from religious trusts. CM Dr. Yadav held a roundtable with leading institutions, highlighting Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s tourism policies and inviting collaboration to expand spiritual tourism. PHDCCI and Sage Group leaders announced plans for hospitality, wellness, and Medicity projects in Bhopal, Indore, and Omkareshwar, along with increased flight connectivity for the upcoming Simhastha.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the Council of Ministers meeting at Mantralaya on Tuesday, during which several significant decisions were approved to boost infrastructure, governance, and renewable energy in the state.
Metro Rail Project Gets Green Light
The Cabinet approved consultancy fees for the preparation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Ujjain&ndash;Indore&ndash;Pithampur Metro Rail Project.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase covering Shri Mahakaleshwar Ujjain to Luv Kush Square, Indore, and the second phase extending from Luv Kush Square to Pithampur. Consultancy work has been assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited at the rate of Rs. 9 lakh per km (plus GST).
Digital Policing Strengthened with Tablets
To ensure smooth functioning of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), the Cabinet approved the purchase of 25,000 tablets worth Rs. 75 crore for the E-Vivechana App. This will allow investigating officers to perform on-the-spot documentation and procedures.
With this sanction, the total cost of the expanded CCTNS scheme stands at Rs. 177.87 crore. The project has been operational in all police stations of Madhya Pradesh since 2012. In the first phase, 1,732 tablets had already been procured.
610 New Posts in Prosecution Department
The Cabinet sanctioned the creation of 610 new posts under the Directorate of Prosecution to strengthen the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and ensure &ldquo;One Prosecutor per Court.&rdquo;
These include 185 Additional Public Prosecutors, 255 Additional District Prosecution Officers, 100 Assistant District Prosecution Officers, and 70 Supporting Staff, with an estimated expenditure of Rs. 60 crore over three years.
Competitive Power Procurement Approved
The Cabinet approved competitive procurement of electricity from proposed new thermal power projects with a total capacity of 4,000 MW (3,200 MW + 800 MW under the &lsquo;Green Shoe&rsquo; option). M.P.
Power Management Company Limited has selected three developers for 800 MW, 1,600 MW, and 800 MW respectively, with procurement of an additional 800 MW under the Green Shoe provision, subject to MPERC approval.
Renewable Energy Projects for Water Supply Schemes
The Cabinet also approved the establishment of a 100 MW solar and 60 MW wind energy project in captive mode for the Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam&rsquo;s Group Rural Drinking Water Supply Schemes, aimed at reducing operational costs.
Electricity will be procured through competitive tender, and a six-month revolving Letter of Credit will ensure timely payments. The Jal Nigam is implementing 147 group drinking water supply schemes at a cost of Rs. 60,786 crore, providing water to over 75 lakh families in 35,000 villages.
The Cabinet had earlier, on March 24, 2025, given in-principle consent for private participation in these schemes, paving the way for efficient implementation.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has declared a state-wide holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi and directed the formation of a committee to review arrangements for the holiday.
Addressing ministers ahead of the Council of Ministers&rsquo; meeting on Tuesday, he also announced that in the upcoming 2027 municipal general elections, the post of chairperson will be filled through direct elections by voters.
Dr. Yadav stressed the promotion of swadeshi goods during festive celebrations. &ldquo;Idols should be made primarily of clay and paper pulp, while the use of Plaster of Paris&mdash;which poses environmental challenges&mdash;should be discouraged,&rdquo; he said.
He added that in public religious events and household rituals, people should use domestically made clothes and decorative materials.
&ldquo;This will encourage small traders and move us towards building an Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh and Atmanirbhar Bharat in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi,&rdquo; the Chief Minister noted.
Mining Conclave Brings Investment Proposals Worth ₹56,414 Crore
Dr. Yadav shared the achievements of the Mining Conclave held in Katni, revealing that investment proposals totaling ₹56,414 crore were received.
The conclave focused on opportunities in critical minerals, strategic minerals, and rare earth elements, along with their processing and value addition. MoUs were signed with Texmin, Indian Institute of Mines, and IIT Dhanbad.
Participation included Coal India Limited, Manganese Ore India Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Texmin IIT, Indian School of Mines, and Indian Rare Earths Limited. Private firms such as Singhal Business Pvt. Ltd., Vinmar Resources, Ramnik Power, and Mineware Advisor also engaged in discussions on future prospects.
Major Road and Infrastructure Projects Sanctioned
Highlighting infrastructure development, the Chief Minister said Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari has sanctioned road projects worth over ₹73,000 crore for Madhya Pradesh.
Key projects include the Jabalpur&ndash;Bhopal Greenfield Highway (255 km), Indore&ndash;Bhopal Greenfield Corridor (160 km), Lakhnadon&ndash;Raipur Four-Lane Highway (220 km), along with 24 other major roads. He also announced plans for a Tiger Corridor linking Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Pench, and Panna National Parks, and enhanced connectivity to ports to boost tourism.
Medical Education Expansion
Dr. Yadav informed that during Union Minister Shri J.P. Nadda&rsquo;s recent visit to Jabalpur, two new government medical colleges&mdash;Sheopur and Singrauli&mdash;were inaugurated with 100 MBBS seats each. &ldquo;With this, the number of government medical colleges in the state has risen to 19, from the earlier 17. Currently, the state has 2,575 MBBS seats and 1,357 postgraduate seats,&rdquo; he said.
Contracts have also been signed under a PPP model for new medical colleges in Katni, Dhar, Betul, and Panna, which will be ready for academic sessions within a year.
Promoting Religious and Regional Tourism
To promote spiritual tourism, Dr. Yadav announced a Global Spiritual Conclave in Ujjain on August 27, describing it as &ldquo;not just an event but a platform to present our rich culture and spiritual traditions before the world.&rdquo; The conclave will host over 300 eminent personalities, including spiritual leaders, thinkers, corporate hospitality leaders, temple trust officials, and technology innovators from India and abroad.
Additionally, a Regional Tourism Conclave will be organized in Gwalior from August 29&ndash;30. &ldquo;This will increase tourist inflow, boost tourism investments in the Gwalior&ndash;Chambal and Sagar divisions, and generate new employment opportunities for youth. The conclave will transform the region into a new hub of industrial and economic growth,&rdquo; the Chief Minister said, adding that over 500 tourism experts, policymakers, and industrialists will participate.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the strategic importance of electricity, calling it as essential as air and water, while highlighting the state&rsquo;s growing contribution to the nation&rsquo;s power needs.&nbsp;
Speaking at a special event, he said, &ldquo;It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh fulfills the power needs of industries, farmers and citizens of the state and also contributes to the nation&rsquo;s requirements. The Delhi Metro runs on electricity supplied from Madhya Pradesh.&rdquo;
The Chief Minister outlined plans to ensure that by 2047, Madhya Pradesh remains power surplus, with no shortages of electricity. He added that the state has increased solar power generation by 30 percent over the last 11 years and is actively promoting clean energy initiatives.
Over 51,000 New Posts Approved in State Power Companies
Dr. Yadav handed over appointment letters to more than 1,000 newly selected employees and announced that over 51,000 new posts will be filled in the state&rsquo;s power companies. &ldquo;This will strengthen the functioning of the companies. Farmers are being given subsidies worth about Rs. 20,267 crore this year, while over one crore families in the state have received subsidies worth Rs. 6,445 crore from the electricity department,&rdquo; he said.
He also highlighted schemes such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana and noted that Sanchi has been developed as the state&rsquo;s first Solar City, with around 32 lakh farmers receiving solar pumps. &ldquo;The clean energy generated in the state is giving a new shape to the energy industry,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav added.
The Chief Minister further noted that the Public Health Engineering Department has begun generating its own electricity, which will increase demand for skilled manpower and enhance the energy sector&rsquo;s overall responsibility.
Exhibition and Interaction Highlight Achievements
At the event, Dr. Yadav inaugurated an exhibition showcasing the achievements of Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s power companies and interacted with representatives of electricity employees&rsquo; organisations. A short film on the state&rsquo;s energy sector was screened, and appointment letters were formally handed over to the newly recruited personnel. Families of the new employees were also present.
The Chief Minister was felicitated by Energy Minister Shri Pradyumn Singh Tomar, who presented a turban, shawl, and citation for approving more than 51,000 regular posts in state power companies.
Shri Tomar said, &ldquo;By approving such a large number of appointments, CM Dr. Yadav has given a new lease of life to the state&rsquo;s power companies. For the first time, so many regular posts have been sanctioned, which is why the Chief Minister was felicitated today.&rdquo; He added, &ldquo;The energy department is constantly working for the welfare of farmers and consumers. Farmers will no longer have to irrigate their fields during chilly nights, as daytime power supply for irrigation is being ensured.&rdquo;

Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Shri Neeraj Mandloi stated, &ldquo;Over 1,000 youths are being appointed today, and more than 51,700 permanent posts have been approved in the six state power companies. This initiative will help Madhya Pradesh set new benchmarks in the nation's energy sector.&rdquo;
Shri Mandloi added that the department has consistently met the energy needs of both the state and the nation. &ldquo;With innovations in solar and conventional energy, Madhya Pradesh is moving ahead rapidly. The state is committed to extending full support to new investors in the energy sector,&rdquo; he said, also thanking officials, employees, and employee organisations for their cooperation.
The event was attended by Mayor Smt. Malti Rai, MLAs Shri Rameshwar Sharma and Shri Vishnu Khatri, Power Management Company MD Shri Avinash Lavania, and other officials and employees.

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister and Chemicals &amp; Fertilisers Minister Shri Jagat Prasad Nadda on Sunday said that India, guided by the farsighted vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is undergoing rapid transformation across all sectors, with healthcare emerging as a strong global presence.&nbsp;
He said health programs designed in Delhi are being implemented with &ldquo;unprecedented success&rdquo; in Madhya Pradesh, making the state a model for others.
Shri Nadda was addressing a program organised by the Health Department at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Cultural Information Centre in Jabalpur. On the occasion, he and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav virtually inaugurated newly constructed government medical colleges in Sheopur and Singrauli, handing over Letters of Permission for 100 MBBS seats each to begin admissions immediately.
Highlighting India&rsquo;s shift from curative to preventive and promotive healthcare, Nadda said, &ldquo;We are writing a new story of growth and expansion in the total healthcare sector.&rdquo; He pointed out that India has become the first country in the world to provide annual health coverage of ₹5 lakh to a majority of its population under the Ayushman Bharat&ndash;Niramayam Yojana, and congratulated CM Dr. Yadav and his team for their dedication.
Major launches and initiatives
In the presence of Shri Nadda and Dr. Yadav, agreements were signed with private investors to establish new medical colleges in Betul, Panna, Dhar and Katni under the PPP model. The leaders also launched the distribution of &lsquo;Vay Vandana Cards&rsquo; for eight lakh senior citizens, symbolically handing over cards to five elderly beneficiaries. Other key launches included the &lsquo;Ayushman Sakhi&rsquo; Smart Chatbot, ASHA Dialogue program, maternal nutrition awareness material, and the Mother-Child Safety Card.
Nadda lauded Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s &ldquo;Healthy Liver Mission,&rdquo; which has already screened one crore people. He said, &ldquo;Under Prime Minister Modi&rsquo;s leadership, revolutionary changes are being brought into India&rsquo;s healthcare system.&rdquo; Over 1.77 lakh Health &amp; Wellness Centres are conducting screenings for dental, mental health, cancer and other conditions, with mandatory health check-ups for citizens above 30 years, he said.
He also highlighted progress in maternal and child health: 89% of births now occur in hospitals, maternal mortality has fallen from 130 to 93, and infant mortality has dropped to 39. Screening is ongoing for 5.2 crore people with hypertension and 3.5 crore with diabetes. Under Ayushman Bharat, 12.74 crore families&mdash;covering more than 50 crore citizens&mdash;are entitled to free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh.
Nadda informed that India now has 780 medical colleges with 1.7 lakh MBBS seats, and the government aims to add 75,000 UG and PG seats in the next five years. He also praised Madhya Pradesh for pioneering MBBS education in Hindi, helping rural students access medical education in their own language.
Recalling the fight against COVID-19, he said India became the fastest country to develop a vaccine and supported not just its citizens but also nations worldwide, handling the crisis with unity unlike the unrest seen in Western countries.
Madhya Pradesh&rsquo;s healthcare push
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasised that the government&rsquo;s role extends beyond treatment to supporting patients and their families. He noted that Madhya Pradesh had only five medical colleges in 2003, but today the number has grown to 32&mdash;including 17 government, 13 private and two just inaugurated. In the last 18 months, around 15 more government colleges have been approved, and efforts are underway to establish a medical or Ayurvedic college in every district.
The CM highlighted state-specific initiatives like free air ambulance and mortuary vehicle services for the poor, and the Rahveer Yojana, which provides ₹1.5 lakh for treatment of road accident victims and ₹25,000 to those who help them reach hospital. He said 75% of medical college seats under the PPP model will be reserved free of cost for poor students.
&ldquo;We are committed to tribal welfare, advanced healthcare access and expansion of facilities in mission mode,&rdquo; Dr. Yadav said.
Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla added that Madhya Pradesh currently has 19 government and 13 private medical colleges, along with AIIMS Bhopal, and will soon increase its tally to 26 government colleges. He said the state is leading in liver health missions and will expand telemedicine services through ASHA workers.
Principal Secretary (Health &amp; Medical Education) Shri Sandeep Yadav described the day as &ldquo;historic,&rdquo; marking the inauguration of two new colleges, the signing of four PPP projects, and the rollout of several new healthcare innovations.
The event was attended by Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh, Assembly Speaker Shri Narendra Singh Tomar (virtually), Minister of State for Health Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Minister of State for Panchayat &amp; Rural Development Smt. Radha Singh, MPs, MLAs, and a large number of citizens.

Cheetah 'Gamini' has given birth to three cubs at the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, taking the number of these big cats in India to 38, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said on Wednesday.
Describing it as a "roaring" success of the government's ambitious Cheetah re-introduction programme, Yadav said it is a powerful symbol of the country&rsquo;s determined and historic conservation effort.
Gamini was translocated to India from South Africa as part of the ambitious project launched in September 2022 to revive the population of the world's fastest land animal in India, which had gone extinct decades ago.
Yadav, in a post on X, said, &ldquo;Kuno welcomes three new cubs - A roaring new chapter at Kuno on the occasion of completion of 3 years of arrival of cheetahs from South Africa. Celebrations echo through Kuno National Park as Gamini, the South African cheetah and second-time mother, has brought 3 new cubs into the world."
This joyful arrival marks the ninth successful cheetah litter on Indian soil and takes the number of surviving Indian-born cubs to 27, he said.

With these newest additions, India's total cheetah population has now reached 38 - a powerful symbol of the country's determined and historic conservation effort, Yadav highlighted.
Each birth strengthens the foundation of Project Cheetah and reflects the passion, perseverance, and round-the-clock dedication of the field staff and veterinary teams who have nurtured this dream into reality, he said.
"A moment of pride for Kuno, and for India&mdash;may Gamini and her three little sprinters grow strong and carry the nation&rsquo;s cheetah revival story forward with speed and grace," the minister added.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav noted that Madhya Pradesh is a powerful centre for cheetah reintroduction.
This is a historic achievement for the entire country in the direction of wildlife conservation, biodiversity, and environmental balance, the CM said in a post on X.
It is a matter of immense joy that under Project Cheetah, the female cheetah &lsquo;Gamini&rsquo; who arrived from South Africa has given birth to three cubs, he said.
"With the completion of three years of cheetahs&rsquo; arrival at Kuno National Park in Sheopur district, this is the 9th successful birth (of a litter). The total number of cheetahs in India has now increased to 38," Yadav added.
Earlier this month, cheetah Aasha, translocated to India from Namibia, gave birth to five cubs in KNP.

At least nine people have fallen ill after consuming contaminated drinking water in Mhow tehsil of Madhya Pradesh's Indore district, officials said on Friday.
Cases of water-borne diseases were reported from the Patti Bazaar and Chander Marg areas on Thursday night, they added.
Indore Collector Shivam Verma arrived in Mhow late at night, visited patients undergoing treatment at a hospital, and spoke to residents of the affected areas, an official said. Nine patients have been hospitalised, while a few others are recuperating at home.
Personnel from the health department have been on site since Friday morning under the direction of Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Madhav Hasani. A team from the Indore Medical College and other specialist doctors are also being sent to the scene.
Mhow MLA Usha Thakur also visited the hospital to meet the affected persons. Collector Verma directed the health department to ensure proper and effective treatment for all patients and instructed the Mhow Cantonment Board to check the water quality and maintain cleanliness in the area.
The government is closely monitoring the situation, Verma said. The affected areas will be surveyed, and residents suffering from any symptoms will be provided with appropriate treatment, with critical patients admitted to the hospital. No patient is in critical condition at present, and some of them are expected to be discharged during the day.
Last month, several people fell ill, and seven deaths linked to water contamination were reported in the Bhagirathpura area of Indore. While residents of the locality have claimed that the outbreak has claimed 25 lives so far, a status report submitted by the Madhya Pradesh government to the High Court on January 15 mentioned seven deaths, including that of a five-month-old boy.

The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday constituted a state-level committee to investigate the Indore water contamination incident and submit its findings and recommendations, an official said.
The committee, led by the Additional Chief Secretary of the General Administration Department, Sanjay Kumar Shukla, will examine the actual causes and key facts of the water contamination in Indore&rsquo;s Bhagirathpura area and analyse administrative, technical, and management deficiencies.
It will determine accountability of the officers/employees responsible for the incident, make necessary recommendations to prevent such recurrence in the future, and include other matters deemed necessary or incidental to the matter under investigation, the official said.
The committee will obtain necessary records, reports, and information from the departments concerned and, if necessary, conduct on-site inspections.
It will submit the investigation report to the state government within one month, the official said.
Besides Shukla, the other members of the committee include Principal Secretary, Public Health Engineering, P Narhari, and Commissioner, Directorate of Urban Administration and Development, Sanket Bhodave.
Indore Divisional Commissioner Sudam Khade has been designated as member-secretary, the official said.
The state government, in its status report before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, has pegged the water contamination tragedy death toll at seven, including a five-month-old infant.
However, an audit report prepared by a committee of the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College indicated that the deaths of 15 persons in Bhagirathpura could be linked to the outbreak in some manner.
Residents of Bhagirathpura claimed that 24 persons have died so far of a vomiting and diarrhoea outbreak in the locality last month.
The administration has paid compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of 21 persons who died after the outbreak.
Officials have claimed that while some deaths had occurred due to other illnesses and causes, authorities provided financial assistance to all bereaved families on humanitarian grounds.

An audit report has been submitted to the Indore administration on the deaths of 21 persons in Bhagirathpura, with findings suggesting 15 of the fatalities may be linked to a recent outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea in the area, according to sources.
Five new cases of diarrhoea, linked to drinking contaminated water in the Bhagirathpura area of Indore, the country's cleanest city, were found on Tuesday, a Madhya Pradesh health department official said.
Indore Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr Madhav Prasad Hasani said the new diarrhoea patients from Bhagirathpura visited the outpatient department (OPD) of health centres, where they were treated.
The local administration has so far confirmed the deaths of six persons due to vomiting and diarrhoea caused by drinking contaminated water. However, local residents claimed 23 patients, including a six-month-old child, have died so far due to the outbreak.
Meanwhile, a committee from the government-run Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College here has submitted an 'audit' report to the administration on the deaths of 21 persons in Bhagirathpura.
Sources familiar with the contents of the report on Tuesday said 15 of these deaths may be linked to the vomiting and diarrhoea outbreak in some way.
"A committee of senior doctors from the college was formed to analyse the causes of the deaths in Bhagirathpura. This committee has submitted its report," District Magistrate Shivam Verma told reporters on Tuesday.
Verma, however, did not provide specific details about the 'death audit' report.
He said some fatalities in Bhagirathpura were likely due to vomiting and diarrhoea caused by unclean drinking water, but the deaths of some patients were unrelated to the outbreak.
The committee could not reach at any conclusion regarding the actual cause of death in some other cases, said the senior bureaucrat.
He said the district administration has so far provided financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to 18 affected families in Bhagirathpura.
"All the deaths in Bhagirathpura are very sad, regardless of the cause. We are consoling the affected families and providing them financial assistance," Verma said.
A total of 436 patients were admitted to hospitals since the vomiting and diarrhoea outbreak, triggered by the supply of contaminated drinking water in the locality on December 29, of whom 403 were discharged after recovery, the CMHO stated.
Currently, 33 patients are hospitalised, of whom eight are in intensive care units (ICUs) of hospitals, he added.

The carcasses were found in the last four days near an aqueduct bridge on the riverbank in the Badwah area, and a post-mortem report has ruled out bird flu as the cause, they said.
Some parrots were alive during rescue operations, but the toxicity of the food was so severe that they died shortly thereafter, District wildlife warden Tony Sharma said.
The deaths triggered panic in the area after a suspected bird flu scare, but veterinary examinations found no trace of the infection.
Forest department officials have banned feeding near the aqueduct bridge and deployed staff at the site for strict enforcement.
Viscera samples from the birds were sent to Jabalpur for further examination, officials said.
According to officials from the veterinary department, food poisoning and improper diet have caused the deaths.
Teams from the veterinary and forest departments, as well as the wildlife wing, have been monitoring the area for the past four days after being alerted by residents.
Veterinarian Dr Manisha Chauhan, who conducted the post-mortems, said symptoms of food poisoning were found in the parrots, with no indicators of bird flu.
People often unknowingly feed birds food that proves fatal to their digestive systems, she said.
Veterinary extension officer Dr Suresh Baghel said rice and small pebbles were found in the stomachs of dead birds.
Prima facie, the deaths seem to be linked to improper feeding, he said, citing pesticide exposure from feeding in sprayed fields and water from the Narmada River as contributing factors.
Visitors to the bridge feeding cooked or leftover food to birds may have proved fatal, officials said.
