The news outlet quoted an employee of the Jankibai Apte Balikashram in Ahmednagar as saying that the victim, Saraswati Vaidya had told them that her uncle is very rich and owns cloth mills.&nbsp;

Sane is accused of killing Vaidya and chopping her body into pieces. He has however claimed that she died by suicide and he cut her body as he was scared.&nbsp;

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Manipur from May 29 to June 1 and announced the constitution of the peace committee after taking stock of the situation.

The Centre has constituted a committee in Manipur headed by the governor to facilitate the peace-making process among various ethnic groups and initiate dialogue between conflicting parties, the Union home ministry said on Saturday.
The members of the peace committee include the chief minister, a few ministers, MPs, MLAs, and leaders from different political parties and civil society groups, it said.
"Government of India has constituted 'Peace Committee' in Manipur under the chairpersonship of the governor, Manipur. The members of the committee include the chief minister, a few ministers in the state government, MP, MLAs and leaders from different political parties," a home ministry statement said.
The mandate of the committee will be to facilitate the peace-making process among various ethnic groups of the state and initiate peaceful dialogue and negotiations between conflicting parties and groups, it said.
The committee will strengthen social cohesiveness, mutual understanding and facilitate cordial communication between various ethnic groups, the statement said.
It also includes former civil servants, educationists, litterateurs, artists, social workers and representatives of different ethnic groups, the home ministry said.

Violent clashes broke out in Manipur after a 'Tribal Solidarity March' was organised in the hill districts on May 3 to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribes (ST) status.
So far, nearly 100 people lost their lives and over 300 injured ever since the ethnic violence broke out over a month ago.&nbsp;

Delhi Police on Friday took wrestler Sangeeta Phogat to outgoing WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh's official residence to recreate the sequence of events that led to the alleged incident of sexual harassment. 

According to a PTI report, Phogat was accompanied by women constables and they were at Singh's residence for half an hour.

According to sources, Phogat was accompanied by women constables.
"At 1.30 pm women officers took Sangeeta Phogat to Brij Bhushan's official residence in Delhi. They were there for half an hour. They asked her to recreate the scene and recall the places where she faced harassment," sources said.
The Delhi Police's Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing sexual harassment allegations against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP from Kaiserganj, Uttar Pradesh is likely to submit in the court its investigation report in the two cases registered against him by next week, officials said on Wednesday.
As part of its investigation, the SIT has questioned more than 180 people, the Delhi Police officials said.
Top wrestlers of the country, including Asian Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat and Olympic medallists Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia, had been protesting against Singh and demanding his arrest for allegedly sexually harassing seven female grapplers, including a minor.
The protesting wrestlers on Wednesday met Sports Minister Anurag Thakur and agreed to suspend their agitation till June 15 after he assured them that a charge sheet against Singh will be filed by then and WFI elections will be held by the end of the month.
The Delhi Police has filed two FIRs against Singh.&nbsp;

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday accused Rahul Gandhi of criticising India and discussing its internal politics during his visits to foreign countries and said the Congress leader should learn from his ancestors.
Shah said it does not suit any leader to criticise one's own country abroad and asked Gandhi to keep in mind that the people of the country were watching him.
He was referring to Gandhi's criticism of the Narendra Modi government during his recent tour of the USA.
"Any patriotic person should discuss Indian politics within India. It does not suit the leader of any party to go abroad and discuss the country's politics and criticise the country. Rahul baba, you must remember that people of the country are watching it closely," Shah said.
"Rahul Baba is going abroad on a vacation to escape the summer heat. He keeps criticising the country there. I would like to suggest Rahul Gandhi to learn from his ancestors," he said.
Shah was addressing a rally at Siddhpur town in Patan district of Gujarat organised to mark nine years of the Modi government.
The country has witnessed huge changes under the Modi government, but Congress does not stop talking about anti-India things, he said.
Shah also attacked Gandhi over its criticism of the new Parliament building.
"You opposed the new Parliament building and installation of 'Sengol', a historical sceptre from Tamil Nadu, there. The Sengol was to be installed by Jawaharlal Nehru. Modi is doing it because he (Nehru) did not do it, then why are you opposing?" he asked.
Congress leaders do not allow PM Modi to speak in Parliament and only keep opposing everything, Shah alleged, and added that the PM has started a new tradition of doing "politics of development".
Shah also attacked Gandhi over the issues of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the abrogation of Article 370.
Lord Ram's temple at Ayodhya was desecrated since the time of Babar (founder of the Mughal empire), he said.
"But today, a grand temple of Lord Ram is under construction and it will be completed shortly," he said.
Praising PM Modi, Shah said the government worked towards improving the lives of Dalits, poor and tribals and made them capable.
"It was under the leadership of PM Modi that a tribal woman became the President of the country for the first time," he said.
Whether improving the economic condition or connecting the country digitally, implementing projects of social welfare, COVID-19 vaccination or infrastructure, India has become a centre of hope in the world, he said.
Referring to former PM Manmohan Singh and ex-Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Shah said, "Comparing 10 years of Manmohan-Sonia to 10 years of Modi, one will find that the 10 years of the Congress-led government were marked by corruption, mismanagement, economic downfall, terrorism and poor law and order situation." The 10 years of the Modi government have been that of capable and safe digital India walking the path of social welfare, he said.
Shah urged the people of Gujarat to vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure that it wins all 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat in the 2024 election.
"Narendrabhai started a new era of development in the country from Gujarat. The publicity of all-round development witnessed in Gujarat from 2002 till 2014 in terms of 24-hour electricity, water, check dam, farm, and girl education helped Modi become the prime minister and the 'Gujarat model' turned into the 'India model',&rdquo; he said.
Shah urged people to get united and decide whether they want Modi or Gandhi as their prime minister in 2024.
"Wherever I go, I see support for Modi. I request the people of Gujarat that they should ensure that all 26 seats in the state are won by the BJP for the third time," he said.

While rain and hailstorms in recent days provided respite from the heat, they reportedly damaged crops in many states. The unseasonal precipitation flattened fields and damaged harvested fruits, as per reports.
IMD advised farmers of Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Punjab and Haryana to postpone harvesting. Farmers of Sikkim and West Bengal have been told to postpone the sowing of maize and jute.
The Union government said that it is yet to receive ground reports from state governments, but preliminary assessments suggest that the impact on rabi crops is not high.

Cyclone &lsquo;Biparjoy&rsquo;, this year&rsquo;s first storm that took shape over the Arabian Sea on June 6 has now been classified in the extremely severe cyclone category.&nbsp;
On the IMD&rsquo;s intensity scale, it is the third highest category with hurricane-force winds of 167-220 km/hour.
According to the Met, Cyclone Biparjoy is away from Indian coasts and is unlikely to cause a direct impact, but heavy showers and strong winds are predicted in coastal areas of Gujarat, Karnataka, Goa, Kerala and Maharashtra this weekend.
&lsquo;Biparjoy&rsquo;, meaning 'disaster' or 'calamity' in Bangla, was named by Bangladesh.&nbsp;

The cyclone will bring a comparatively strong wind, in coastal districts such as Porbandar and Kutch, and Jamnagar gusting to 60 kmph and increasing to 75 kmph. Authorities have dispatched NDRF teams to the districts of Porbandar, Gir Somnath and Valsad.

Severe cyclone &lsquo;Biparjoy&rsquo; will not hit the Gujarat coast as it is likely to pass at a distance of 200-300 km from the Porbandar coast, IMD said in its latest forecast on Saturday.
However, the storm will bring thunderstorms and strong wind in the western state in the next five days.
"During the next two days, the Saurashtra-Kutch region will witness a wind speed of up to 30-50 kmph, PTI reported quoting a Met official.
The met dept has advised fishermen to not venture into the sea for the next five days.

The Met Department has not predicted any major impact on India's west coast, Pakistan, Iran, and Oman.

In one of the biggest demonstrations of its combat prowess in recent years, the Indian Navy has carried out a mega operation in the Arabian sea that involved two aircraft carriers, multiple warships, submarines and over 35 frontline planes amid China's increasing presence in the Indian Ocean region.
The Navy's aircraft carriers -- INS Vikramaditya and newly inducted INS Vikrant -- were the centrepieces of the exercise as they served as floating airfields for a wide array of aircraft, including MiG-29K and helicopters such as MH60R, Kamov and Advanced Light helicopters, officials said on Saturday.
The twin carrier CBG (carrier battle group) operations were held recently, they said without divulging the specific date of the exercise.
The Indian Navy said the "seamless operational" integration of the two aircraft carriers as well as the fleet ships and submarines is a powerful testament to the "pivotal role" of sea-based air power and India's role as the preferred security partner in the Indian Ocean and beyond.
