'Mark Azad Kashmir on map' question in West Bengal school sparks controversy

A controversy has erupted over reports that a model question paper given to students in a West Bengal school, asking them to mark "Azad Kashmir" on a map.

The question paper was reportedly distributed at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Vidyamandir School in Malda. Model questions papers are issued to help students prepare for board examinations.

Union Minister of State for Education Subhas Sarkar said that the person who prepared the question paper is "anti-national" and "inspiring terrorism". He asked the state government to take action.

"Azad Kashmir" is the term used by Pakistan and terrorists to refer to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK).
