The mob attack on a UKLF camp came after alleged Kuki militants burned down around 100 houses in Kakching.

Manipur: angry villagers set fire to Kuki militant camp, say reports

A fresh bout of violence was reported from Manipur as angry villagers allegedly set fire to a Kuki militant camp.

An abandoned camp of the United Kuki Liberation Front in Sugnu in Kakching district was attacked on the night of June 4, 2023.

The camp housed militants after the UKLF signed a peace accord with the government. The mob attack came after alleged Kuki militants burned down around 100 houses in Kakching on June 3.

Meanwhile, gunfights between militants and security forces have been continuing for two days, police said.
