Singer Lucky Ali moves Karnataka Lokayukta over alleged land grab by IAS officer

Singer Maqsood M Ali, popularly known as Lucky Ali, has approached the Karnataka Lokayukta against an IAS officer over land grabbing allegations.

Ali has alleged that officer Rohini Sindhuri, her husband Sudhir Reddy and her brother-in-law Madhusudhan Reddy have used State machinery and monetary might to illegally encroach upon land that rightfully belongs to his family. The complaint also names Assistant Police Commissioner Manjunath and government official Manohar, according to a copy of a complaint Ali shared on social media.

Ali first raised the land-grabbing allegations in December 2022, in a letter addressed to the Karnataka Police chief. He shared the contents of his complaint on Facebook at the time.

Ali accused the Reddy brothers of encroaching his farm in Bengaluru with the help of officer Sindhuri. He accused the alleged land mafia of forcibly entering the Trust property located in Kenchenahalli Yelahanka and refusing to show the relevant documents. Even then, he hit out at the trio for misusing state resources for their personal gain.

According to Ali, his family has been in possession of the land for over 50 years.

In his letter to the DGP, Ali also claimed he was not getting any help from the local police. He had accused the local law enforcement of supporting the encroachers instead.

Ali's recent plea filed with the Lokayukta, that names Sindhuri, Reddy brothers and cops, suggests he failed to receive adequate assistance from the police.
