With fighting continuing in Ukraine following Russia's attack, the Indian government announced that it would dispatch teams to Ukraine's land borders to facilitate evacuation of citizens stranded in the country.

Earlier, Indian flights bound for Ukraine had to return due to the closure of Ukrainian airspace as Russia launched an offensive early in the morning on February 24.

The Indian embassy in Ukraine released visuals of over 200 Indian students accommodated near the embassy premises in Kyiv. The Indian ambassador also interacted with the students, and explained to them that they had been kept waiting outside the building so that the Ukrainian authorities could see their number and allow them to assemble in one place while martial law is in effect.

The ambassador also issued an appeal to other Indians in the war-torn country, asking them to stay where they are and reach out to the embassy.

Earlier, the Indian embassy issued its third advisory for Indian nationals in Ukraine. The Indian citizens are advised to move to bomb shelters in case they hear air sirens or bomb warnings at their places of residence. The embassy said that Google Maps has a list of bomb shelters.

Back in India, the Ministry of External Affairs announced that it is expanding its control room to assist Indians in Ukraine. The control room has also been made operational 24x7.
