New Delhi, June 11 (PTI): India has expressed concerns to the United States regarding an incident involving an Indian man who was allegedly handcuffed and treated like a criminal at Newark Airport. Official sources reported this development on Wednesday. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has raised this issue with the US embassy in New Delhi.

Footage of the Indian youth being subdued by US authorities at Newark Airport has gained widespread attention online. The Indian embassy in Washington DC, along with the Indian Consulate in New York, are actively engaging with US authorities to gather further information regarding the case. "We have yet to receive comprehensive details about the incident, the circumstances leading to his restraint, or specifics about his flight and intended destination," a source mentioned. India is persistent in its efforts to follow up on the issue.

The incident, depicting the Indian man being "handcuffed and allegedly treated like a criminal", was recorded by an Indian-American named Kunal Jain, who expressed feeling "helpless and heartbroken" over the situation.
