World leaders including the likes of US President Joe Biden and Russia's Vladimir Putin penned congratulatory messages as India completed 75 years of freedom.

As India celebrated its 75 years of Independence, wishes poured in from across the world to wish the Indian leadership in achieving this milestone.

World leaders including the likes of US President Joe Biden, Russia's Vladimir Putin, penned notes on India's successful completion of 75 years:

US President Joe Biden in a statement said India's Independence Day also marks celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. "The United States joins the people of India to honor its democratic journey, guided by Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring message of truth and non-violence," the statement further read

Russian President Vladimir Putin on the other hand, congratulated the Indian leadership on the day with a note he addressed to Prime Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu stating that India rightfully enjoys considerable presitge on the world stage and plays a constructive role in resolving pressing issues. "Russian-Indian relations are developing in the spirit of the special & privileged strategic partnership." he added

French President Emmanuel Macron in a tweet addressed to PM Modi congratulated India on attaining "stunning achievements" in the past 75 years as he assured the Prime Minister to count on France to always stand by India's side.

UK-acting Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a heartfelt message in Hindi hoped that the ties between the two countries will strengthen further in the coming years. He also shared a picture offering tribute to Mahatma Gandhi

Satoshi Suzuki, Japanese envoy to India extended his wishes with a 'Namaskar' in a video message. The Embassy presented a vocal & instrumental rendition of India's National Anthem to mark country's 75 years of Independence

Meanwhile, foreign Ministers of Nepal, Maldives and High Commission of Sri Lanka also extended their "warmest congratulations" to the Indian government on the landmark occasion.

In his address on the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged people to focus their energy on the five resolutions of making India a developed nation, removing every trace of bondage, taking pride in its heritage and unity, and fulfilling their duties in the next 25 years.
