A police source said both families involved in the matter are neighbors.
"Their children were in a relationship, and the girl's family didn't approve of it," he said.
Multiple PCR calls were received on Tuesday regarding gunshots in the area. A police team rushed to the spot and recovered one misfired cartridge and one empty shell, he added.
"....It was alleged that a group of individuals arrived at the location with the intent to open fire. One of the accused, Chintu, reportedly discharged a round while the others acted in furtherance of a common intention," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Sachin Sharma said.
A country-made pistol and a knife, believed to have been used in the crime, were recovered from their possession.
A surveillance exercise spotted the accused at Durbal Nath Marg, from where they were apprehended, he said.

A delegation of the Samity had recently met the education minister to apprise him about the problems faced by Bengali language students across Jharkhand.
During the meeting, Soren had said there were no Bengali-speaking students and asked the Samity to bring such students to schools, then the government would provide textbooks and teachers, Mukherjee said in a statement.
"It is completely incorrect and misleading. His remark has sparked widespread opposition in the society," the statement said.
Mukherjee claimed that out of 24 districts of the state, 16 were predominantly Bengali-speaking, while Bengali-speaking students were present in every school.
The Samity alleged that a deliberate conspiracy was being hatched to marginalise the Bengali language since a separate Jharkhand state was formed two-and-a-half decades ago.
Mukherjee strongly demanded that appropriate measures be taken to preserve the Bengali language in the state.
He said the Samity opposes the state government's decision to rename the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University in Ranchi, hailing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder as a great nationalist and educationist.

The CBI is likely to question the senior management of Shapoorji Pollonji Infrastructure Gujarat Private Ltd in connection with an alleged case of bribery of Rs 85 lakh, in which a Commissioner of Income Tax and a company executive were arrested, officials said Wednesday.
Viral Kantilal Mehta, deputy general manager (Taxation) of Shapoorji Pallonji (SP) Group, had already paid Rs 15 lakh to two middlemen based in Mumbai - Sajida Majhar Hussain Shah and Prakash Shambaji Pawar, both residents of Chembur, against an alleged bribe demand of Rs 1.20 crore from Commissioner of Income Tax Jeevan Lal Lavidiya for favourable disposal of a taxation appeal filed by the company, the CBI FIR has alleged.
Mehta was arrested by the CBI after paying the second instalment of Rs 70 lakh to a middleman in Mumbai on May 9.
"It needs to be examined who cleared the payment of such a large amount of alleged bribes. The role of everyone involved in the alleged conspiracy will be examined during the course of the investigation," an official said.
In a statement after the CBI operation on May 10, the company had said the group is committed to fully cooperating with the relevant authorities in their investigations.
"The SP Group has been made aware of a serious allegation of misconduct against an employee of one of our Group Company subsidiaries. The alleged conduct was not with the knowledge of the Group, nor was it sanctioned by it. In fact, this goes against the very values and policies that the Group upholds in its business operations," the company had said in a statement.
It said, given the seriousness of these allegations, the Group has already launched an internal enquiry into the alleged conduct and will take the necessary steps based on the outcome of the investigation.
The central agency had received the inputs that Lavidiya had already decided to issue a favourable order from the company and was waiting for a final submission from the company.
According to the FIR, Mehta sought time from Lavidiya to make the company's final submission and the company management's " permission " to pay the alleged bribe to him.
"Source has further informed that the management of Shapoorji Pallonji Infrastructure Gujarat Private Ltd. has now given permission to Viral Kantilal Mehta for payment of Rs 70 lakh to Jeevan Lal Lavidiya, Commissioner of Income Tax for their pending matter," the CBI FIR had alleged.
They said Lavidiya, a 2004-batch Indian Revenue Service officer posted as Commissioner Income Tax (Exemption), Hyderabad, with additional charges as Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals Unit-8 and Unit-7), was arrested along with Mehta and agents Sairam Palisetty, Natta Veera Naga Sri Ram Gopal, and Sajida Majhar Hussain Shah.
The CBI is also examining other alleged instances of bribes received by Lavidiya to clear companies' appeals.
"Source has informed that Jeevan Lal Lavidiya, while dealing with an appeal of NDW Development Corporation LLP, Mumbai, had obtained a flat at Mumbai worth Rs. 2.5 crores as bribe, which belonged to Aviation Hotels Pvt Ltd., a group company of NDW Development Corporation," the FIR has alleged.
It also alleged that the officer registered the flat as "benami" with Dandela Venkateswarlu, a resident of Khammam District, as the front and kept the registry documents in his custody. Lavidiya is also a native of Khamman.
The CBI FIR further alleged that while handling the matters of Ventura Securities Ltd., Thane and Anandrao Shitole, Mumbai, Lavidiya had allegedly obtained bribe of Rs 20 lakh and Rs 15 lakh through middlemen and routed through hawala channels.
The accused officer received Rs 15 lakh through his middleman while processing the appeal of Hemantkumar Rajendrakumar Shah, Ahmedabad, according to the allegations in the FIR.
The amount was allegedly kept in the bank account of his acquaintance and routed through hawala channels, it had said.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended a senior inspector of Shivaji Nagar police station here while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a school trustee for taking legal action, an official said on Wednesday.
Inspector Bapurao Madhukar Deshmukh allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from the complainant who is a joint trustee of a school in Shivaji Nagar area, the official said.
The trustee approached Deshmukh seeking help after a rival group in the school trust broke the lock of the school's main gate and tried to take it over illegally in August 2024, the complaint said.
He requested Deshmukh that the rival group should be stopped from entering the school until the Charity Commissioner passed an order on the dispute.
Deshmukh said he could help with preventing the group from entering the school and registering a case of trespass against them, but allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from the trustee.
The amount was later negotiated to Rs 3 lakh, following which the complainant approached the ACB.
A trap was laid and Deshmukh was held on Tuesday.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against Deshmukh and further probe is underway, the official said.

The department has also predicted a thunderstorm at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometre per hour accompanied by light to moderate rain in some parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Kota division for Wednesday.

Furthermore, Rs 2.18 crore has been sanctioned for the electricity supply work for the Manpur-Kashipur residential project under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

The Resistance Front (TRF), a front for Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), had claimed responsibility of the Pahalgam attack. &ldquo;An Indian technical team, which is in New York, is interacting today (Wednesday) with the Monitoring Team of the 1267 Sanctions Committee and other partner countries in the UN. &ldquo;They will also be meeting with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED),&rdquo; sources told PTI. The development comes in the wake of the horrific April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir and the retaliatory Operation Sindoor launched by India targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir

During the three-day visit, the CM would meet representatives of chambers and industries on May 19 and chair a public distribution programme and an administrative review meeting the next two days.
"Next week, I will be going on a trip to Uttar Banga (North Bengal). The chief secretary will accompany me on the trip. We will have three programmes. One will be with chambers and industries on May 19. The next day, there will be a public distribution programme at Oodlabari in Jalpaiguri district," Banerjee told reporters.
The Bengal CM said that on May 20, she will hold an administrative review meeting.
"There will be representatives from Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Darjeeling, Kalimpong (GTA chairman and secretary will be present). People from Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur, and Malda districts will be present virtually because it would not be a good idea to leave their respective areas and come over during this time," she added.
"I will come back on May 22," Banerjee added.

Miss World 2025 contestants visited the Ramappa temple in Mulugu district of Telangana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offered prayers.
Dressed in sarees, 35 beauty queens from European countries reached the Kakatiya Rudreshwara (Lord Shiva) temple, popularly known as Ramappa temple, on Wednesday evening.
They were accorded a grand welcome with traditional Kommu Koya and other dances by the district administration.
The contestants washed their feet with water before entering the temple and offered prayers inside the shrine.
Officials explained the sculptural beauty of the temple, about 200 kms far from Hyderabad, to the international visitors.
Ramappa Temple, a 13th century engineering marvel, is named after its architect Ramappa.
Before reaching the temple, the contestants, who were dressed in sarees, participated in a photo shoot at the sprawling Ramappa lake.
Some of them joined local women in dancing to the songs of Bathukamma, the floral festival of Telangana celebrated during Navaratri festival usually in September-October.
Meanwhile, a separate group of Miss World contestants visited the famous Thousand Pillar temple in Warangal.
They were delighted to see the giant sized Nandi sculpture, carved out of a single rock, at the temple.
The Thousand Pillar temple, built in 12th century by the Kakatiya King Rudra Deva, is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Currently, under the maintenance of the Archaeological Survey of India, the temple is known for intricately carved pillars.
A massive sculpture of Nandi, carved out of a single rock, is another attraction of the temple, which is about 150 kms away from Hyderabad.
The Miss World 2025 contest began with a glittering ceremony in Hyderabad on May 10 and will continue until May 31.
As part of its broader vision, the Telangana government has drawn up an action plan to leverage the global event to enhance the state&rsquo;s international profile and attract investments.
During their stay, the contestants will tour several key tourist attractions across the state.
The contestants of Miss World 2025, representing 109 countries, on Tuesday, visited Hyderabad&rsquo;s iconic Charminar and the bustling Laad Bazar (also known as Chudi Bazar), famous for its bangles and pearls.
