Gujarat: teacher slaps young student repeatedly, arrested | Watch

A Gujarat teacher was seen assaulting a 4-year-old student, who was repeatedly slapped in front of her classmates. Parents of the child shared surveillance footage of the incident, which resulted in the teacher’s suspension.

The teacher slapped the young student dozens of times, alternating between her cheeks and back. Police have arrested and charged the teacher.

Parents of the 4-year-old rushed to the school after learning about the assault and demanded CCTV footage from school authorities, as per News18.

“The footage clearly shows how mercilessly my daughter was thrashed by the teacher in front of other students. We want authorities to give us justice,” the girl’s father told the outlet.

The girl’s parents sought legal action after the incident, police officials said. The teacher was charged under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, as per police.

Gujarat ACP Vipul Patel identified the teacher as Jashodaben Khokharia, now a suspended employee of Sadhna Niketan School.
