FIR Against RCB Cricketer Yash Dayal for Alleged Sexual Exploitation

Ghaziabad (UP), Jul 8 (PTI) - A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Yash Dayal, a cricketer associated with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), on allegations of sexual exploitation, according to police reports made public on Tuesday. The police are set to record statements from both the cricketer and the complainant, stated a senior official.

The FIR was registered at Indirapuram police station on Sunday under the purview of BNS Section 69, which pertains to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, including false promises of marriage, as per statements from a senior police official. This legal action followed after a woman lodged a complaint to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath via the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS) on June 21, claiming Yash Dayal had exploited her under the pretense of a marital promise during their five-year relationship.

The woman, a resident of Indirapuram, alleged ongoing sexual exploitation by Dayal and shared her grievance on the social media platform X on June 24, which gained significant attention. On June 27, she provided the police with a handwritten complaint alleging physical and mental harassment by the cricketer.

Supporting her claims, the complainant presented evidence including mobile call records, chatting exchanges, screenshots, and video calls. Upon reviewing these evidences, an FIR was duly registered, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Trans Hindan, Nimish Patil, who spoke with Press Trust of India (PTI).

Patil mentioned the police's intention to record statements from both the cricketer and the woman, who have been in a live-in relationship. He noted that legal proceedings would commence following the completion of the investigation.

Efforts to reach Dayal for comments have been unsuccessful.
