India backs resolution at&nbsp; UNGA that expressed concern over Israeli occupation of Syrian Golan.

India has voted in favour of a draft resolution in the UN General Assembly that expressed deep concern over Israel not withdrawing from the Syrian Golan.
The Syrian Golan is a region in southwest Syria that was occupied by Israeli forces on June 5, 1967.
The 193-member UN General Assembly voted on the draft resolution &lsquo;The Syrian Golan&rsquo; under agenda item &lsquo;The situation in the Middle East&rsquo; on Tuesday. The resolution, introduced by Egypt, was adopted by a recorded vote with 91 in favour, eight against and 62 abstentions.
Apart from India, those voting in favour of the resolution included Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Russia, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates. Australia, Canada, Israel, the UK and the US voted against it. The resolution said it is deeply concerned that Israel has not withdrawn from the Syrian Golan, which has been under occupation since 1967, contrary to the relevant Security Council and General Assembly resolutions.
The resolution declared that Israel failed to comply with Security Council resolution 497 (1981), which decided that &ldquo;the Israeli decision to impose its laws, jurisdiction and administration in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights is null and void and without international legal effect.&rdquo; Tuesday's resolution also declared the Israeli decision of December 14, 1981, null and void and said it had no validity whatsoever. It called upon Israel to rescind its decision.
The resolution also stressed the illegality of the Israeli settlement construction and other activities in the occupied Syrian Golan since 1967.
It demanded Israel's withdrawal from all the occupied Syrian Golan to the line of June 4, 1967, in implementation of the relevant Security Council resolutions, and determined &ldquo;that the continued occupation of the Syrian Golan and its de facto annexation constitute a stumbling block in the way of achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.&rdquo; The resolution expressed grave concern over the halt in the peace process on the Syrian track and expressed hope that peace talks will soon resume from the point they had reached.

As many as five houses collapsed following a cylinder explosion in Mumbai.

Five houses collapsed after a gas cylinder exploded in a house in Chembur area of Mumbai on Wednesday morning following which 11 people were rescued, civic officials said.
Some people were injured, they said without specifying the exact number.
The incident took place at 7.50 am at Old Barrack near Golf Club in Chembur area.
A gas cylinder exploded in a house, leading to the collapse of four to five two-storey structures, a civic official said.
Eleven people were rescued from the collapsed houses, the official said, adding that so far four persons have been admitted to the civic-run Shatabdi Hospital in Govandi.
Fire brigade, police, civic staff, ambulance service and other agencies were mobilised.&nbsp;

Videos of two of the 41 rescued workers who were trapped inside the Silkyara tunnel are doing rounds on the internet. One of the workers, Vishwajeet Kumar Verma, while speaking with ANI described what he faced along with 40 other workers in the tunnel.
Vishwajeet said, &ldquo;When the debris fell, we knew that we were stuck. For the first 10-15 hours we faced difficulty. But later, a pipe was put in to provide us with rice, dal and dry fruits.&rdquo;
He also said, &ldquo;Later on the tenth day, a mic was installed and I was able to talk to my family members...I am happy now, will celebrate Diwali now.&rdquo;
Another worker, Subodh Kumar Verma shared a video online in which he said that the workers faced problems in the initial 24 hours. After that, they were provided food through a pipe.
Subodh further said that he is perfectly fine and does not have any problem now.&nbsp;
It is worth noting that the rescue operation took place for 17 days and it was done through several drilling methods.

A fire broke out at a chemical plant in Gujarat's Surat city after an explosion on Wednesday, injuring 24 workers, officials said.
The blaze erupted at the chemical factory located in Sachin GIDC industrial area at around 2 am following an explosion in a large tank after leakage of inflammable chemicals stored in it, Surat in-charge chief fire officer Basant Pareek said.
"At least 24 workers suffered injuries and were rushed to a hospital where they are undergoing treatment," he said.
It was not immediately clear how many workers were inside the factory when the incident took place, he said.
"The blast caused fire in the three-storey building of the factory and engulfed the entire unit," another official said.
More than a dozen fire-fighting vehicles were rushed to the spot and efforts were underway to contain the blaze, he said.&nbsp;

She suspected many of the photos were morphed.
According to a Times of India report, the two had met at a BPO company where they worked and had been in a relationship for the past four months. The man has been arrested.

The families burst firecrackers, distributed sweets and thanked the government for bringing their loved ones back.
Meanwhile, medical check-up of the workers was done at Chinyalisaur Community Health Centre in Uttarakhand.
Of the 41 men, 15 are from Jharkhand, two from Uttarakhand, five from Bihar, three from West Bengal, eight from Uttar Pradesh, five from Odisha, two from Assam and one from Himachal Pradesh.
The workers interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and narrated the tale of their survival.

The 41 men trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand were rescued late Tuesday. This marked the end of the 17-day-long rescue mission. As the workers were rescued, they had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in which the workers told the PM how they survived inside the tunnel.&nbsp;
One of the workers while speaking with PM Modi said, &ldquo;Including today, we were stuck in the tunnel for a total of 18 days but not even one day we felt that we were having any sort of weakness or anxiety. Nothing like that happened because we were 41 people in total and everyone was from different states of the country but we all lived like brothers.&rdquo;
He further said, &ldquo;We made sure to stick together and we didn&rsquo;t face any problem because of that. As the food used to come, we all used to sit together and have the meal. &ldquo;
The worker also said, &ldquo;Once we were done with our dinner, we used to take a walk inside the tunnel in the 2.5 km area where we were trapped.&rdquo;
&ldquo;In the morning, we used to do Yoga and take a morning walk inside the tunnel.&rdquo;
The workers further thanked the Uttarakhand government for their efforts and said that they are really grateful.&nbsp;

The Enforcement Directorate is conducting searches at the residence of Rajasthan Minister Rajender Singh Yadav in connection with an alleged midday meal scam case.
Yadav holds various portfolios in the state government, including Home and Justice, Power and Planning.
According to reports, as many as 10 locations linked to Yadav in Jaipur are being raided.
The raids started at 7 a.m. when ED officials from Delhi reached Kotputli. Movement to and from the minister's residence and office has been restricted.

According to ANI, the decision was taken after the cabin crew reported a dispute between a husband and wife. An aviation security official of Delhi airport said that the reason for the fight between the couple is not known.
The flight initially sought permission to land in Pakistan but the request was denied. Consequently, the flight safely landed at Delhi Airport and the unruly male passenger was offloaded.

In your temple, the morning aarti with drums and music also starts early at 3 am. So it does not cause any kind of noise to anyone? Can you say the noise of ghanta (bell) and ghadiyal (gong) remains in temple premises only, does not percolate outside the temple?' The court said, "there is a scientific method for measuring noise pollution, but the petition does not provide any data to show that a ten-minute azan causes noise pollution"

India has formed a high-level committee to probe allegation of plotting murder of a Khalistani leader on US soil.

India has constituted a high-level inquiry committee to probe allegations relating to a conspiracy to kill a Sikh extremist on American soil.
The Financial Times, citing unnamed sources, last week reported that US authorities thwarted a plot to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, and issued a warning to the Indian government over concerns it was involved in the plot.
External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Wednesday that India constituted a high-level inquiry committee on November 18 to look into all the relevant aspects of the matter.
Pannun, a Sikh extremist and known to be an American and Canadian citizen, is wanted by Indian probe agencies on various terror charges.
"We have already said that during the course of discussions with the US on bilateral security cooperation, the US side shared some inputs pertaining to nexus between organised criminals, gun runners, terrorists and others," Bagchi said.
"We had also indicated that India takes such inputs seriously since they impinge on our national security interests as well, and relevant departments were already examining the issue," he said.
"In this context, it is informed that on November 18, the Government of India constituted a high-level Enquiry Committee to look into all the relevant aspects of the matter," he added.
Bagchi said India will take necessary follow-up action based on the findings of the committee.
The FT report came weeks after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made allegations of a "potential" involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in a Vancouver suburb in June.
Following the report, Bagchi on November 22 said the US side shared some inputs pertaining to nexus between organised criminals, gun runners, terrorists and others.
He said the inputs are a "cause of concern" for both countries and they decided to take necessary follow up action.

Munna Qureshi, a rat-hole miner was the first person to reach the tunnel workers. He along with Monu Kumar, Wakeel Khan, Feroz, Parsadi Lodhi and Vipin Rajput have turned out to be the heroes of the Uttarkashi rescue mission. They were the rat-hole miners who reached the trapped men and made the rescue mission a big success.
For those unaware, the rescue mission in Uttarakhand&rsquo;s Silkyara tunnel was taking place for 17 days and on Wednesday, all 41 workers were rescued.&nbsp;
Munna Qureshi, a 29-year-old miner employed by a trenchless engineering services company in Delhi, specializes in rat-hole mining&mdash;a technique involving the excavation of small pits to extract coal. Recently, he was among the group of miners called to Uttarakhand for a crucial rescue mission.&nbsp;
Their task was to clear the final 12 meters of debris left behind after the malfunction of a US-made auger machine in a tunnel.
Rat-hole miners became the last hope for the rescue operation as the auger machine broke down. It's worth noting that rat-hole mining was prohibited in 2014 due to its unscientific nature as a coal-extraction method.
On Tuesday evening, Munna Qureshi accomplished the challenging task of removing the last rock and saw the 41 workers who had been trapped. His efforts were met with expressions of gratitude as the rescued workers applauded him.

The workers rescued from Uttarkashi tunnel were flown to AIIMS Rishikesh for medical examination.

After undergoing medical check-up at Chinyalisaur Community Health Centre, the 41 workers rescued from collapsed Uttarkashi tunnel were taken to AIIMS Rishikesh for further examination.
The were flown by Indian Air Force's transport aircraft Chinook.
The workers were said to be fine following the initial examination.
During their time in the tunnel, they were provided &nbsp;oxygen, food and water through pipes. After their evacuation, they were immediately transported to the local health centre in ambulances.
