Five conditions set by the Supreme Court for Arvind Kejriwal's interim bail

The Supreme Court granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till June 1, to allow him to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was released from Tihar Jail on Friday, and has to surrender on June 2.

During the ruling, the Supreme Court set some conditions on the bail.

  1. Kejriwal shall furnish bail bonds to the sum of Rs 50,000, with one surety of the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent.
  2. While on bail, he shall not visit the Chief Minister's office or the Delhi Secretariat.
  3. He shall not sign official files unless it is necessary for obtaining clearance/approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
  4. The AAP leader has been barred from commenting on his role in the excise policy case.
  5. He will not interact with any of the witnesses and/or have access to any official files connected with the case.

The AAP leader was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March in a money laundering case linked to the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy.
