Delhi Votes: Kejriwal, BJP, Congress leaders urge high turnout in pivotal polls

Polling for the high-stakes Delhi Assembly elections is underway, with AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal urging voters to recognize their power in shaping the city’s future. In a post on X, he emphasized that every vote is a step toward better schools, hospitals, and governance.

With an electorate of 1.56 crore, the election will determine Delhi's leadership for the next five years. Kejriwal called for a choice between "truth and development" versus "hatred and fear," asserting, "Hooliganism will lose, Delhi will win."

Delhi CM Atishi echoed his sentiments, framing the election as a battle between "work and hooliganism." Meanwhile, BJP Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva encouraged voters to back the "double-engine government" for a cleaner, better-governed Delhi under PM Narendra Modi.

Congress candidate Sandeep Dikshit, contesting against Kejriwal in New Delhi, urged voters to protect their rights by turning out in large numbers.

Polling is taking place across 13,766 stations in all 70 constituencies, deciding the fate of 699 candidates. The results will be announced on February 8.
