Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated a new School of Eminence in Chaajli, Sangrur, emphasizing the state's commitment to comprehensive development. Mann praised recent progress in education, health, power, and employment, attributing it to a dedicated government intent on serving the people with integrity. Criticizing previous administrations, he noted their neglect of public services, which hindered Punjab's growth. Mann highlighted Schools of Eminence as pivotal in holistically developing students and preparing them for future challenges. He celebrated the appointment of a finance minister from the weaker sections, symbolizing a shift from elitist leadership. Mann condemned former leaders for fostering corrupt practices and urged the public not to forgive past betrayals. He emphasized female empowerment and the support for girls' education. Concluding, Mann congratulated stakeholders on the school launch, expressing personal ties to the area and pride in Punjab's transformative educational initiatives.

Chaajli (Sangrur), April 15: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday said that the intent and will of the state government was clear to serve the people with sweat and toil for ensuring holistic development of Punjab and progress of Punjabis. Addressing the gathering after dedicating newly constructed School of Eminence here today, the Chief Minister said that Punjab is witnessing a new era of unprecedented development as the state government has made strenuous efforts to give major push to growth and progress of Punjab. He said that all the sectors whether education, health, power, employment and others have observed unparalleled development during the last three years. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is because the intent and will of the state government is clear to serve the people of Punjab with dedication, commitment and integrity. The Chief Minister said that the earlier governments had never paid any heed towards such initiatives to serve the people in a better manner. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that previously the reign of the state was in the wrong hands earlier due to which the state had suffered adversely. However, he said that ever since assuming the charge of office his government has been according top priority to such welfare works of immense public importance. The Chief Minister said that the previous governments never paid heed towards imparting quality education to the students. He said that the sons and daughters of big leaders used to study in convent schools at hills due to which the government schools were never their thrust areas. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that instead of imparting education, the government schools were merely mid day meal centres during the previous regimes. The Chief Minister said the Schools of Eminence are being constructed across the state with the sole aim of holistic development of the students and grooming them for futuristic needs. He said that the students are being imparted education as per their interest so that they can acquire quality education and excel in life. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is realizing the dreams of the national leaders like Bharat Ratna Baba Sahib Dr BR Ambedkar. The Chief Minister said that the state government is giving wings to dreams of students for soaring high in life by constructing these schools. He said that Punjab is witnessing a major revolution in the field of education and these schools, equipped with ultra modern technology, are a reflection of that. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is a momentous occasion and the day is not far when Punjab will be a front ranking state in the country. The Chief Minister said that this initiative of the state government will ensure access of students especially from poor and underprivileged sections to the quality education. He said that the day is not far when students from these schools will excel in every field and bring laurels for the state. Mr. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that with this effort the process has begun to transform the destiny of students and hopefully it will produce desired results. The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that for the first time in the history of the state Punjab has got a Finance Minister from weaker and underprivileged sections of the society. He said that earlier this post was reserved for affluent leaders who were known as ‘Kaka ji’ in common parlance. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is a historic transformation as power has been vested in the hands of the common man, which was the dream of our great national leaders. The Chief Minister said that previous regimes had sheltered drugs, sand, transport, cable and other mafia just for the sake of their vested interests. He said that these leaders had no sympathy with Punjab and Punjabis rather they had plundered the wealth of the state mercilessly. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the people of state will never forgive these leaders for backstabbing Punjab and Punjabis. Meanwhile, exhorting the girls to come forward and empower themselves through education, the Chief Minister said that the state government is leaving no stone unturned for it. He said that nowadays girls have outnumbered boys in every field including those which were hitherto considered as fiefdom of the men. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that women’s empowerment is imperative to carve out an egalitarian society and in the larger interest of society and state. The Chief Minister congratulated all the parents, teachers, students and others for this historic day when this excellent school is being dedicated to the masses. He recalled his long association with the area where he had spent his childhood and even from where he was elected MP for the maiden time. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a complete transformation of the government schools is being witnessed across the state as the Punjab government is providing opportunities to them. Earlier, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema welcomed the Chief Minister and all the dignitaries to the occasion.
