Bus-Car Collision in Mangaluru: Critical Injuries

Mangaluru, Karnataka, May 27 (PTI) — In a grave incident that transpired in the early hours of Tuesday, a father and his daughter sustained critical injuries after their car was allegedly struck by a private bus in the Dakshina Kannada district, as per information provided by the police. The accident took place near Mura village.

According to a police report, the bus was en route from Puttur to Mangaluru when it collided with the car, which was making a right turn towards Kedila. It was specified that the bus reportedly rammed into the rear of the car while trying to overtake, resulting in the car overturning due to the severe impact. The collision left the car severely mangled.

Among the three people present in the vehicle, the father and daughter bore serious injuries, whereas a child traveling with them escaped without harm, a senior police official conveyed. Those injured were promptly transported to a private hospital in Mangaluru for medical care.

At present, law enforcement authorities are working to ascertain both the identities and ages of the victims, with an ongoing investigation to delve deeper into the incident. —
