BSF Thwarts Infiltration by Bangladeshi Nationals in Assam

Guwahati, May 27: An infiltration bid by a large group of Bangladeshi nationals trying to cross into Assam was successfully thwarted by the Border Security Force (BSF) on Tuesday, according to official reports.

The incursion attempt occurred early Tuesday morning in South Salmara Mankachar district, a spokesperson from the BSF confirmed.

"In a noteworthy operation on the morning of May 27, the Border Security Force effectively prevented an infiltration attempt by a substantial group of Bangladeshi nationals at the international boundary in South Salmara Mankachar district," the spokesperson stated.

BSF personnel stationed at the border noticed suspicious movements involving Bangladeshi nationals approaching the international boundary, seemingly intent on crossing into Indian territory.

Acting with urgency, BSF troops challenged the group to prevent their unauthorized entry, leading the Bangladeshi individuals to retreat back into their country, the spokesperson elaborated.

Additionally, another BSF official, who preferred to remain anonymous, disclosed that a separate group of 14 illegal immigrants was also intercepted and pushed back by security forces through a border point in the same district during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
