Bareilly: students sing 'Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua...', principal suspended, says report

The principal of a government school in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly has reportedly been suspended after a video of students singing a religious prayer song went viral, according to an NDTV report.

UP's education department penalised the principal, and police filed a case after right-wing groups objected to students reciting the prayer 'Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Banke Tamanna Meri' which has the line "mere Allah burai se bachana mujhko", or "Allah, save me from evil".

Police said they filed a case because the prayer pertains to a particular community, and was not part of the approved list for schools.
