A post by AIIMS Dr Shaurya Garg has caught the attention of people as he shared a story about his friend, who collects samples for adult ADHD through the game of tic-tac-toe.

Dr Shaurya, who is a psychiatrist, in his post on October 18 said that one of his colleagues is quite asocial and never attends any non-academic events or parties.

Dr Shaurya further said in his post that during a seminar his colleague initiated a game of tic-tac-toe with him. It was only later, that he realised that his friend was collecting samples for adult ADHD. Moreover, Dr Shaurya also shared a picture of a game of tic-tac-toe played on AIIMS prescription paper.

What is ADHD?

ADHD stands for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. It is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects both children and adults, though it is often diagnosed in childhood. ADHD is characterized by persistent patterns of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity that can interfere with daily functioning, academic or occupational performance, and interpersonal relationships.
