Jensen Ackles' 'Countdown' Canceled After First Season on Prime Video

Los Angeles, October 13 (PTI) — Jensen Ackles, known for his role in "Supernatural," expressed his disappointment over the cancellation of his latest show "Countdown" after just one season. The announcement came from Prime Video, which decided not to renew the crime thriller that premiered in June.

The series narrated the story of LAPD officer Mark Meachum, portrayed by Ackles, who becomes part of a secret task force to investigate a murder, only to unravel a much larger conspiracy threatening the city.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Ackles shared, "As some of you may have seen already, Countdown did not get picked up for another season. Amazon’s gonna let it go, and it’s a bummer because I had such an amazing time making that show. Had an absolute blast with the cast and the crew."

He further expressed, "Sometimes you can set out to do your best and check all those boxes, and ultimately it’s out of your hands. That’s the way it goes in this industry. That’s the end for Mark Meachum… But I’m thankful for the experience. We’ll see you down the road on something else, I guess."
