Patrick Dempsey aka ‘Grey's Anatomy’ McDreamy is 2023's Sexiest Man Alive: ‘Nice to have recognition'

Patrick Dempsey, who starred as Doctor McDreamy in the popular Shonda Rhimes show ‘The Grey's Anatomy’, has been crowned as the 'sexiest man alive of 2023' by People magazine.

Reacting to the news, Patrick said that he is happy about the news and wants to use his fame positively.

‘I’m glad it’s happening at this point in my life. It’s nice to have the recognition, and certainly my ego takes a little bump, but it gives me the platform to use it for something positive,’ the actor told the publication.

Dempsey further said he was shocked at receiving the title at this stage in his career and life.

‘I was completely shocked, and then I started laughing, like, this is a joke, right? I’ve always been the bridesmaid! I’d completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good,’ he said.

When asked how his children reacted to the news, the actor mentioned, ‘They’re just going to make fun of me and pick on me and figure out every reason why I shouldn’t be. Which is good, they keep me young.’

A section of netizens is unimpressed with the choice.

They objected to the choice on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘There are more handsome and sexy men than him, maybe there are pointers though. But I would like to know the pointers they use in judging this,’ a social media user wrote.

‘I think you accidentally posted a tweet from 2005,’ added another.

Many also felt Pedro Pascal deserved the title of ‘sexiest man alive of 2023’.
