'Bad guy' Christopher Waltz gets his own show 'The Consultant' on Amazon Prime Video

Unnerving, menacing, looming, and dangerous - Christopher Waltz’s spellbinding performances stay with you long after the credits have rolled, and you’ve returned home, closed your eyes and dozed off to sleep.

Remember that Nazi SS Officer Hans Landa in Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds”? That was him. Or remember the Villian in the Bond film, Spectre? Again, that was him. Or remember that bounty hunter named King Schultz who goes head to head with Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained? Well that was him.

It’s very hard to forget Christopher Waltz’s seemingly effortless performances or his brilliant dialogue delivery - often spat out with aplomb like he is part preying mantis, part piranha and part leopard all rolled into one about to pounce and bite his opponents head off.

So what is ‘The Consultant” about? Well, it’s an adaptation of a 2015 novel by author Bentley Little.

The plot of the novel centres around a company called CompWare which finds itself in serious trouble after a promised merger falls through and they face a major PR Crisis! How to solve this crisis? Enter, the Consultant! How far will workers go to get ahead and survive in CompWare, with Christopher Waltz leading their strategies?

‘The Consultant’ is being helmed by British television writer best known for writing Inside Men in 2012, Tony Basgallop. Aside from being the creator and showrunner of the series, he will also executive produce alongside Waltz.

WandaVision and Game of Thrones director Matt Shakman will direct and executive produce the series.

When asked on what it would be like to work with Shakman and Waltz, Basgallop had this to say:

‘The Consultant’ is being produced by Amazon Studios and Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios, said they were excited to bring this "edge-of-your-seat" series to the audience.
