Warner Bros to Adapt Chris Colfer's 'The Land of Stories'

Los Angeles, Jul 23 (PTI): Exciting news for fans of Chris Colfer's bestselling children's book series "The Land of Stories" as it's being adapted into a live-action film. Warner Bros, a major Hollywood studio, has acquired the rights to the series and has brought on filmmaker Phil Johnston to direct the project, as reported by entertainment news outlet Deadline.

"The Land of Stories" follows twins Alex and Conner Bailey, who, while mourning their father's death, find themselves magically transported into a book where popular fairy tales come to life. The series debuted with "The Wishing Spell" in 2012 and has expanded with five additional books and several prequel titles authored by Colfer.

The film adaptation will have Chris Colfer serving as a producer alongside Emma Watts, with Rob Weisbach taking on the role of executive producer.

Chris Colfer rose to fame playing Kurt Hummel on the television show "Glee," a role that earned him a Golden Globe, two Primetime Emmy nominations, and a Grammy nomination.
