Akshay Kumar Unveils 'Sky Force' on Gandhi Jayanti

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, fresh from the success of OMG 2 and on the brink of releasing Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue, surprised fans on Gandhi Jayanti by unveiling his new project, Sky Force.

The announcement, made on October 2, coinciding with former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri's birthday, holds significant historical relevance, as the film is set during his tenure.

Sky Force's storyline delves into the bravery and patriotism displayed by Indian armed forces during the nation's inaugural and deadliest airstrike against Pakistan.

Akshay Kumar shared the news on Instagram, commemorating Gandhi-Shastri Jayanti.

The movie's announcement video featured a powerful snippet of PM Lal Bahadur Shastri's speech from that era, emphasizing the film's historical context.

The project also introduces emerging talent Veer Pahariya in a pivotal role, injecting fresh energy into the narrative.

Akshay Kumar, deeply engaged in the film's shooting, celebrated his birthday on the sets in Lucknow.

Accompanying him, actresses Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur are reported to be part of the cast.

Co-directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur, and creatively produced by Amar Kaushik, Sky Force is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande. The film is set to hit theaters on October 2, 2024.
