Knife attack at birthday party in Delhi: drunk man stabs neighbours for being denied food, say police

In a wanton crime reported from the national capital, a drunk man allegedly attacked his neighbours with a knife, injuring 3 sisters and their mother.

The drunk assailant went on rampage after he was refused food after a birthday party at his neighbour's house. The incident occurred in Kakrola area in Delhi's Dwarka on 5 July.

The victims - Pushpa, Neelam, Sapna and their mother Malti Devi - were celebrating the birthday of 5-year-old Vikram. After the party concluded, around 12:30 am, their neighbour - 28-year-old Vicky - came to their house and demanded food. He was allegedly drunk and they refused to give him food as the party was over.

Subsequently, Vicky allegedly came back with a knife and attacked them. One of the victims - Neelam - is reportedly battling for her life at the hospital.

Vicky, who works as a garbage collector, was caught and thrashed by neighbours, and then handed over to the police.
