Class 10 boys raped classmate, spread video of assault, say Tamil Nadu police; accused arrested

In a shocking incident in Tamil Nadu, three Class 10 boys alleged gang-raped one of their classmates, a 15-year-old girl. The alleged rapists have also been accused of spreading a video of the assault.

The incident occurred in Cuddalore. The harassment began when the victim attended a birthday party recently, as per police.

The girl had gone to a male friend's house for his birthday, when the two were photographed together by another boy. He then blackmailed the girl by saying that he would show the photograph to her parents. The blackmailer asked the girl to visit his house.

When she did so on 1 July, she was allegedly raped by 3 boys, and they made a video of the crime. When the boys started sharing the video, the girl confided in her mother, and police were informed.

The accused have been arrested, booked under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act, and sent to an observation home since they're minors. A fourth boy has been booked for allegedly stalking the victim.
