Dhule's Veerangana Campaign Trains Over 17,000 Girls Through Customised Safety Program with Mission Prahar

VMPL
Dhule (Maharashtra) March 31: The Veerangana self-defense training initiative, led by the district administration under District Collector Bhagyashree Vispute (IAS), was conducted in Dhule in November 2025, reaching over 17,000 girl students through a structured, scenario-based safety program.
The initiative was implemented with support from Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj Masterji's Mission Prahar Education and Training Program, which contributed to the design and delivery of the training.
Officials said the program was developed after assessing local conditions, including daily travel patterns, timings, and commonly reported safety concerns affecting students.
The course was designed by Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj Masterji along with a team of Mission Prahar female instructors, based on inputs received from the district administration. The structure and content were aligned with practical safety needs identified at the ground level under the guidance of the Collector.
Mission Prahar applied its SRT (Situation Reaction Tactics) framework to map real-life situations to simple, practical response techniques. The final training module included 28 core skills, 10 situational modules, and 54 response movements, focusing on usability in everyday contexts.
As part of the initiative, more than 500 female teachers were trained as trainers, enabling the program to continue across schools. Teachers also shared their on-ground experiences and student concerns, which were factored into the training approach.
Speaking on the initiative, District Collector Bhagyashree Vispute (IAS) said,
"The aim was to ensure that students are not only aware but also prepared to respond to real-life situations. The program was designed keeping local realities in mind."
The training system focuses on applied biomechanics, reflex conditioning, and response under stress, with an emphasis on clarity and ease of use.
Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj Masterji said,
"The idea was to keep the training simple and directly usable. When the situation is real, the response has to be instinctive and practical."
Participants were also introduced to the use of everyday items--such as pens, mobile phones, ID cards, books, bangles, and dupattas--as basic tools for self-protection.
Unlike conventional formats linked to martial arts or sport-based training, the program followed an application-focused approach centred on situational awareness and immediate response.
Officials added that the training and course development support for the initiative was provided by Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj Masterji and the Mission Prahar team as part of a non-commercial, capacity-building effort.
Senior leadership from the Mission Prahar team, including CMD Swarnim Aarthie and National Event Head Atikksha Bhardwaj, were present during the final demonstration.
Officials noted that the initiative is being continued through trained teachers, making it a sustainable, school-level preparedness model.
With its scale and locally adapted design, the Veerangana campaign in Dhule is being seen as a replicable approach for district-level safety initiatives.
