This IT tycoon bags the title of 'India's Most Generous'

With an yearly donation of Rs 1,161 crore software giant HCL's founder, Shiv Nadar bagged the title of 'India's Most Generous' for the year 2022

As per the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022, Nadar roughly donated Rs 3 crore per day.

77-year-old IT tycoon Nadar claimed the top spot in 2022 followed by Wipro’s Azim Premji at the second place with an annual donation of Rs 484 crore.

3rd and 4th spots in the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List were occupied by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and Aditya Birla Group's Kumar Mangalam Birla.

Asia's richest man Gautam Adani is at seventh in the list with a donation of Rs 190 crore.

Among the women, Rohini Nilekani emerged as the most generous woman philanthropist with a donation of ₹120 crore.

According to the list, a total of 15 individuals made an annual donation of over Rs 100 crore, 20 donated over Rs 50 crore and 43 over Rs 20 crore in India this year
