Narayana Murthy highlights low work productivity in India, urges youth to work 12 hours daily

Infosys co-founder NR Narayana Murthy has called on India's youth to work 12 hours a day to improve the country's work productivity and compete with leading economies like China, Japan, and Germany.

In a podcast interview with former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai, Murthy highlighted India's low work productivity, emphasizing the need for a cultural shift toward determination, discipline, and hard work.

According to Murthy, India must learn from the post-World War II efforts of Germany and Japan, where citizens worked extra hours to rebuild their nations. He stressed that improving work productivity and reducing corruption and bureaucracy delays are essential steps for India's progress.

Murthy acknowledged the importance of respect on the global stage, emphasizing that performance leads to recognition, recognition leads to respect, and respect leads to power.

While advocating for economic growth, Murthy also emphasized the need for inclusivity, ensuring that every Indian, regardless of location or background, has access to education, healthcare, nutrition, and hope for a better future.

He urged the youth to recognize their responsibility in shaping India's destiny and encouraged them to dedicate their efforts toward making India one of the top economies in the world.
