Elon Musk is worth $338 billion as per Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him the world's richest man.

Founder of the world's most popular EV maker is riding the wave of the Tesla stock soaring. Tesla shares have skyrocketed 190% over the last one year and 67% since the beginning of this year. This has led to his net worth tripling in just a year.

Elon Musk owned 190 million shares of Tesla, as per the last data available. This is close to a 20% stake in the company.

Musk was paid $11 billion last year but all in the Tesla stock option. In 2018, Tesla decided to pay Musk in stock options. Tesla had to massively increase its sales, while also becoming one of the most valuable corporations in the US stock markets in order for Musk to get paid.

Musk has an option that allows him to buy 100 million Tesla shares for just $70 apiece. It should be noted that the current market price of Tesla's share is $1,200.
