Google introduces 'DigiKavach' to combat financial frauds in India

Google unveiled its latest initiative, 'DigiKavach,' aimed at preventing financial fraud in the country. The announcement came during the ninth edition of Google's annual India-specific event, Google for India, held in Delhi.

DigiKavach, according to Google, is a cutting-edge early threat detection and warning system designed to identify and analyze emerging financial fraud patterns before they cause widespread harm.

The program operates by studying the methods and techniques employed by scammers, enabling Google to gain crucial insights for early threat detection. These insights are then shared and collaborated upon with a wider ecosystem, enhancing the effectiveness of fraud prevention measures.

To bolster this initiative, Google has partnered with the Fintech Association for Consumer Empowerment (FACE). FACE will play a vital role in flagging potential threats on a priority basis, facilitating swift response and mitigation efforts.

With the launch of DigiKavach, Google has taken a significant step forward in its mission to ensure the security and integrity of digital financial interactions, reinforcing its role as a responsible technology leader in India. As the program unfolds, it is expected to significantly contribute to reducing financial fraud and enhancing the overall digital experience for millions of users across the country.
