On Monday, Adani group shares were trading higher, adding as much as Rs 1.14 lakh crore to investors' wealth. For the first time after the Hindenburg fiasco the total market capitalisation of the group has hit Rs 12 lakh crore.

Adani Green Energy was leading the gains with a jump of 8% in the afternoon trade. This was followed by Adani Enterprises extending a 7% gain. ACC, Ambuja Cements and Adani Energy Solutions was up 6%. The rest of the Adani group companies were also extending gains.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the Sensex and Nifty also hit an all-time high. Sensex surged over 1,000 and Nifty was above 20,550 in the early trade.
<h3>Capital expenditure plans</h3>
The rally in Adani shares come after the group announced its plans to spend Rs 7 lakh crore on its capital expenditure over the next 10 years. At an industry event on Friday, the group's Chief Financial Officer Jugeshinder Singh said that even though the group has a capacity to invest Rs 20 lakh crore it has stalled the move due to lack of high quality vendors.&nbsp;
"As we develop the vendor pool, our capex will go up. If we manage our core strengths of execution and operations to develop and run infrastructure properly, in a 25-year period we will invest up to Rs 80 lakh crore," Singh said.
He further said that the group will focus on the infrastructure business as the margins in FMCG are much lower.&nbsp;

Music streaming giant Spotify said Monday it will reduce the number of its employees by around 17% in a bid to cut costs amid "dramatically" slower economic growth.
Spotify in October posted a rare quarterly operating profit of 32 million euros, compared to a loss of 228 million for the same period a year earlier, on the back of 26% growth in active users for the third quarter.

"I realise that for many, a reduction of this size will feel surprisingly large given the recent positive earnings report and our performance," chief executive Daniel Ek wrote in a letter to employees, which was seen by AFP. In a forward-looking approach, HCIL has plans to introduce a battery-electric variant of the Elevate within the next three years. As India's inflation stays within a comfortable range and economic growth continuing at an accelerated pace, the Reserve Bank of India is likely to continue to remain status quo on policy rates, as per forecasts.&nbsp;
The RBI has held the benchmark policy rate steady in its last four bi-monthly monetary policies, having last increased the repo rate in February to 6.5%. This move halted a series of interest rate hikes initiated in response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict and subsequent global supply chain disruptions, which led to heightened inflation in India.
The RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das-led Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is scheduled from December 6 to December 8. The decision of the six-member MPC will be announced on the morning of December 8.

The consolidation plan, initially sanctioned in January this year, garnered approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in March, setting the stage for the seamless integration of the subsidiaries into the parent company.

Simultaneously, the company announced the appointment of Amresh Kumar as its Chief Risk Officer for a tenure of two years, effective from the merger's completion date. V K Vijayakumar, Chief Investment Strategist at Geojit Financial Services told Moneycontrol that the state election results could trigger renewed optimism and further rally in the market. He went on to say that from the market perspective the poll result was better than expected.
"The state elections results have turned out to be a big event which can trigger renewed optimism and further rally in the market. Market likes political stability and a reform-oriented, market-friendly government. From the market perspective, the results were better-than-expected. The market has already partly discounted a BJP victory with a 500 point rally during the last 4 sessions. But the mood is so exuberant that the rally will continue. The global backdrop also is favourable with the US 10-year bond yield declining to 4.23%. An across the board rally in stocks is in the offing", VK Vijayakumar told Moneycontrol

FPI inflow:&nbsp;Foreign portfolio investors have turned into net buyers in November after two consecutive months of being net sellers. This could be attributed to the softening of US Treasury yields and the resilience of the domestic market. In November, FPIs have invested Rs 9,001 crore in Indian equities.
In the domestic debt market the FPI hit a six-year high in November. This was driven by robust yields and the domestic bonds' inclusion in JPMorgan's Emerging Market Global Bond Index.

Foreign portfolio investors have infused Rs 14,556 crore as of Nov. 29, according to data from the National Securities Depository Ltd. The previous highest monthly inflow by FPIs was recorded in October 2017.

In the first 15 days of the month the FPI flows were negative. However, the quantum was less than the previous fortnights. As per the NSDL data, foreign investors have bought equities worth Rs 1,14,716 crore so far this year.
"FPIs have reversed their selling strategy in India. Decline in U.S. bond yields and the resilience of the Indian market have forced the FPIs to halt their selling," Dr VK Vijayakumar, chief investment strategist at Geojit Financial Services told BQPrime. He further added that the better-than-expected decline in inflation in the US has given investors confidence that the US FED will pause the rate hike.
In most sessions over the month the FPI inflow experienced a downward trend after the US Treasury Yields peaked at 5% in October. The Nifty50 also recorded its best month of 2023 in November with 5.52% gains.

The Reserve Bank of India has unveiled the redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bond Series X of 2017-18, slated for maturity on December 4, 2023. At a profitable ₹6,265 per unit, this redemption fetches a significant gain of ₹3,304 per unit, marking a 111.58% surge over the initial issue price of ₹2,961 per unit.
The computation of the redemption price for SGB involves a straightforward average of the closing gold price of 999 purity over the preceding three business days before the redemption date, sourced from the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). In this instance, the redemption price is calculated using the simple average of the closing gold prices for November 29, 30, and December 1, 2023. What are Sovereign Gold Bonds?
Sovereign Gold Bonds are government-issued securities offered to investors in exchange for a holding certificate. These bonds, denominated in gold, require investors to pay the issue price in cash. While the tenure of the bond spans 8 years, early encashment or redemption is permissible after the fifth year from the issuance date on coupon payment dates.
Can you prematurely withdraw SGBs? For those looking to prematurely withdraw SGBs, the process entails approaching the relevant bank/SHCIL offices/post office/agent at least thirty days before the coupon payment date. A request for early redemption can only be processed if submitted at least one day before the coupon payment date, as per the directives laid out by the RBI. The proceeds from such redemptions are credited to the investor's specified bank account provided during the bond application.
Upon maturity, these bonds are redeemed in Indian rupees, with the redemption price determined by the average of the closing price of gold of 999 purity over the prior three business days from the repayment date, as published by the India Bullion and Jewelers Association Limited. Investors receive advance notification regarding the impending maturity of the bond one month beforehand. The maturity proceeds are then credited to the registered bank account. Any changes in details, such as account numbers or email IDs, require prompt notification to the bank/SHCIL/PO for proper processing. Gold rates on Monday surged to record highs amidst speculations of a potential US Fed rate cut following remarks by Jerome Powell. Early in the Asian stock market, gold soared past $2,100 (₹175,197), hitting an all-time peak of $2,146 (₹179,319) per ounce.
Similarly, in the domestic market, the gold future contract for February 2024 on MCX spiked to an unprecedented ₹64,000 per 10 grams. However, profit booking led to a retracement from these highs, pulling gold prices below $2,100 (₹175,197).
In tandem, silver prices (March 2024 expiry) on MCX started at ₹78,450 per kg, surging to an intraday high of ₹78,549 within minutes of market opening. Internationally, silver hovered around $25.50 per ounce.

Himachal Pradesh has witnessed the highest overall unemployment rate of 33.9%, followed by Rajasthan at 30.2%, among the age group of 15 to 29 years in cities during July-September 2023, according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS).
The PLFS data of the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) also revealed that unemployment among the 15-29 age group in urban areas was high among females at 49.2% in the July-September quarter of this fiscal year as compared to 25.3% among males in Himachal Pradesh.
in the case of Rajasthan, the joblessness in females in cities was high at 39.4% in the quarter as against 27.2% in males.
Jammu &amp; Kashmir also reported a high rate of joblessness at 29.8% in the age group in cities.
In the case of Jammu &amp; Kashmir, unemployment was high among females at 51.8% in the quarter compared to 19.8% among males in the period in cities.
The data showed that the overall unemployment in the country was 17.3% in the 15-29 age group in cities as per the current weekly status.
The activity status determined on the basis of a reference period of the last seven days preceding the date of survey is known as the current weekly status (CWS) of the person.
The overall unemployment was high among 22.9% in cities in the country in the 15-29 age group compared to 15.5% among females in the July-September quarter 2023, showed the data.
The survey conducted in 22 states, showed that the lowest unemployment rate was 7.1% in Gujarat followed by Delhi at 8.4% in the July-September quarter among persons of the age group of 15-29%.
