Manufacturing PMI:&nbsp;The manufacturing sector has continued to do well in November with PMI rising to 56. After slowing a bit in October, the growth gathered pace as strengthening client demand and more favourable input supply boosted production volumes.&nbsp;
A reading of over 50 indicates expansion, while that of below 50 denotes contraction.
<h3>Inflationary pressure retreat</h3>
The inflationary pressure has retreated as the rise in purchase cost was modest in the month. This compared to the series of price rise that started in August 2020. Although average purchasing costs rose again, the rate of inflation eased to the lowest in the current 40-month sequence of increases.

The rise in cost has translated into increased selling prices. Pollyanna De Lima, Economics Associate Director at S&amp;P Global Market Intelligence noted that Firms' ability to secure new business, both domestically and from abroad, remained central to the success of the sector

<h3>Financial Planning</h3>
Sadagopan emphasises on having a proper financial plan as the major part of our prime years are spent in earning money. However, with time, as the earnings increase we stop paying the attention it requires. Sadagopan points out that this lack of attention stems from the lack of interest most people have towards finances. But anybody who is earning should have a plan for their money, he insists.
"Over a period of time we start earning a very significant amount of money. Once we start earning that much amount of money, we don't pay too much attention to it", says Suresh Sadagopan. "You need to have a plan for your money", he adds.
<h3>Who needs a financial advisor?</h3>
According to Sadagopan, a financial advisor is not neccessary if you are able to spend your time on keeping yourself up to date on all the developments regarding product, economy and markets. This inclination, he estimates, is exhibited by only 1% of the people.
The rest 99% get influenced by their friends, colleagues, television and newspaper while taking financial decisions. These people require a financial advisor, Sadagopan says.
"Mostly you do what your friend is doing, what your colleague is doing, what you have watched on television, what you have read on newspaper. That doesn't work well for most people. 99% of people require a financial advisor", Said Sadagopan
<h3>Financial advisor's role</h3>
Meanwhile, a financial advisor must be well aware of the status and requirement of their clients before suggesting an investment strategy. Sadagopan says having a full account of the investor's goals and financial state will help in deciding the kind of products, asset allocation, and risk.
Sadagopan also insists on establishing trust between the clients and advisors. He mentions that a client should both trust the advisor as well as understand the advices.&nbsp;
If you do not have a financial advisor yet, Sadagopan insists on having a liquidity to cover 3 to 6 months of expenses including the EMIs and the near term goals. He also pointed out the importance of having a contigency fund, appropriate insurances (medical and life). Sadagopan further insisted on creating a retirement fund. He says, once all of this is done, you can spend the rest of the money guilt free.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reported that approximately 97.26% of the Rs 2,000 banknotes have been returned to the banking system, leaving only around Rs 9,760 crore still in circulation among the public.
Since the announcement of withdrawal on May 19, the total value of Rs 2,000 banknotes in circulation decreased from Rs 3.56 lakh crore to Rs 9,760 crore as of November 30, 2023.
Despite this reduction, the RBI confirmed that Rs 2,000 notes remain legal tender and can be deposited or exchanged at any of the 19 RBI offices across India. India Post also facilitates the sending of Rs 2,000 notes to RBI Issue Offices for credit to bank accounts.

Initially, the deadline for depositing or exchanging these notes was September 30, later extended to October 7. As of October 8, individuals have the choice of either exchanging the currency or having the equivalent sum credited to their bank accounts at the 19 RBI offices.
There have been observed queues at RBI offices during working hours for the exchange or deposit of Rs 2,000 notes. These offices are located in major cities across India.
The Rs 2,000 banknotes were introduced in November 2016 following the demonetisation of the Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 notes that were then in circulation.

LPG Price Hike:&nbsp;Oil Marketing Companies increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 21 , effective immediately. The prices of domestic LPG cylinders are unchanged at ₹903 per 14.2-kg cylinder.

The outcome of the elections with BJP coming victorious may help Indian equity markets to gain. As per Analysts who spoke to Moneycontrol, the markets are expected to cement gains as the BJP is set to form government in three Hindi heartland states - Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
<h3>Share Market Gain</h3>
Moneycontrol quoted StoxBox's Director - Research Swapnil Shah and said that the image of BJP as a pro-reformist has provided market participants with confidence.&nbsp;
&ldquo;If the final results of the state elections are in BJP&rsquo;s favour, we expect markets to further cement gains. The image of the BJP as a pro-reformist and the performance of the economy on various fronts, especially during the COVID period and gloomy global economic situation, have provided market participants confidence that a dual-aided right-wing government is beneficial in the longer term,&rdquo; Swapnil Shah told Moneycontrol.

He further added that this victory would send a strong message to investors betting on India&rsquo;s rising growth potential. The victory would also position India on a stronger footing as compared to its peers, according to Swapnil Shah.
Meanwhile the Head of Retail Research at HDFC Securities Deepak Jasani has told Moneycontrol that he expected a 1-1.5% surge in the market when it resumes trading on December 4. He further reasoned out that it is unlikely to have 3-4% gains as the election results were already factored in the previous week's gain.
&ldquo;Investors might take profits after recent gains. Watching how foreign investors react to election results; if they keep buying, market momentum should stay. After the election, focus shifts to RBI, Fed actions, global tensions, and the May general election,&rdquo; Jasani told Moneycontrol.
Amit Kumar Gupta, research analyst at Fintrekk told the publication, that if Nifty50 can sustain above 20,430, it can test 20,620-20,810 during the week. &ldquo;Bank Nifty can also test 46,120 as immediate resistance with a 5-7 percent rally immediately if that level breaks out on the upside. Valuation comfort is less in small and mid-caps though stock-specific returns may continue,&rdquo; Gupta told Moneycontrol.
Moneycontrol quoted Rajesh Palviya, Head - of Technical &amp; Derivative Research, at Axis Securities and said that Nifty can hit 20,500 and Bank Nifty reaching 45,600-45,800 levels on Monday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has swept the Madhya Pradesh polls. The party has overcome all the prediction of anti-incumbency that was on rise due to unemployment and elevated inflation. This is how BJP successfully rode this anti-incumbency wave landing safely on the shore.
Its strategy to target the women voters has paid off well. Notably, out of the 5.6 crore voters in Madhya Pradesh, 2.7 crore are women. Similarly, out of the 230 assembly constituencies, women outnumber men in 29.
Reacting to the early trends of the poll result, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' scheme's role for the landslide victory. "I had said BJP will get a comfortable majority and we are getting it. I give the whole credit to Ladli Behnas for this impressive performance", Shivraj said.
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia too lauded the scheme, calling it a game changer. "I express my gratitude to every single person of the state. This is the result of the BJP's double engine government, PM Modi's leadership, guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shahji, and party president JP Naddaji, and welfare schemes implemented by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan...Ladli Behna scheme is a game-changer and the full credit for it goes to Shivraj Singh Chouhan," Scindia said
<h3>Ladli Behna Yojana</h3>
BJP had set the stage for the assembly elections early in March. Madhya Pradesh's Finance Minister Jadgish Devda introduced the 'Ladli Behna Yojana' in his 2023 Budget speech. The government had allocated Rs 8,000 crore for the scheme. Under this welfare scheme about 12 million women would receive Rs 1,000 every month which will be progressively raised to Rs 3,000. The amount would be credited on the 10th of every month.
&ldquo;This scheme has been started with Rs 1,000 per month, but I will not give only one thousand. The amount will increase gradually,&rdquo; Chouhan said. &ldquo;I will increase it to Rs 1,200 per month and Rs 1,500 per month. As soon as the money is arranged in the coming year, I will increase it to Rs 3,000 per month&rdquo;, he added.
As per Moneycontrol, this was seen as a smart counter-attack against the Congress&rsquo;s poll guarantee of providing Rs 1,500 per month to women if voted to power. The process of accepting the application for the scheme began on 5th March 2023 - Shivraj Singh Chouhan's 65th birthday. While launching the scheme, Chouhan urged women to strengthen their families with the money they got through the program. Women began to get the benefits of the scheme from June 10.
<h3>Eligibility criteria</h3>
Women aged between 23 and 60 years who have less than 5 acres of land or an annual income of less than Rs 2.5 lakhs are eligible to get the benefits of Laadli Behna yojana. They also must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh.

The proposed 5% blending of biogas with natural gas supplies in the country can cut LNG imports worth $1.17 billion annually, says a study by the Indian Biogas Association (IBA).
<h3>Biogas blending</h3>
The study comes against the backdrop of the government's recent mandate to blend 1% biogas with piped natural gas (PNG) supplies in the country from April 1, 2025 under the compressed biogas blending obligation (CBO) scheme.
The biogas blending is proposed to be further increased to 5% by fiscal year 2028&ndash;29.
According to the study, this blending initiative gels well with the government's macro-level move to make India a gas-based economy, with a target to increase the current share of gas in the energy mix from 6% currently to 15% by 2030.
<h3>IBA Estimates</h3>
The IBA estimates show that 5% blending of biogas with natural gas can reduce LNG imports worth $1.17 billion. This can also bring down per capita CO2 emissions by 2%, benchmarked to the 2019 figure, which was 1.9 metric tonne of CO2 per person in India.
Additionally, the body says preventing organic waste going to landfills can bring innumerable benefits.
The CBO scheme shall encourage investment of around Rs 37,500 crore and facilitate the establishment of at least 750 compressed bio gas (CBG) projects by 2028&ndash;29, as per government estimates.
This is going to improve India's energy security, as it is currently heavily reliant on imported natural gas to meet its energy needs.
Blending biogas with PNG and CBG can help reduce this dependence, which is invaluable.
Biogas blending has the potential to demonstrate a positive correlation with agricultural income growth too, which is the case with ethanol as well.
Every additional large-scale plant can ensure that almost 1,000 acre of nearby biogas plant area can be converted into organic agriculture.
Biogas can be produced from various organic waste sources, such as agricultural waste, municipal solid waste, and food waste.
This can create new economic opportunities for farmers, waste management companies, and other stakeholders involved in biogas production.
Blending of biogas with natural gas will streamline the market for biofuels, making it more investor-friendly by reducing capital and operational costs, the body says.
It also needs to be emphasised that selling biofuels in the market will become smoother, and the ecosystem will benefit from increased investor confidence, IBA stated.&nbsp;

IIT placements:&nbsp;The placement season in India's premium engineering colleges Indian Institute of Technology begun on December 1 which will go on till May. Like always, companies from across the globe has hired the over 1,000 IITians from Delhi, Kharagpur, Roorke and BHU campuses.
<h3>IIT Delhi</h3>
The class of 2024 from IIT Delhi has baaged 480 full time jobs including pre-placement offers, with around 450 unique selections by the end of Day 1 of the placement season on Friday. Many students have also received multiple job offers.

The institute in a statement mentioned that more than 360 national and international companies have registered for the hiring process, offering more than 660 job profiles across multiple sectors so far. The top recruiters on Day 1 include Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and Texas Instruments in terms of number of offers given. Around 25 students have received international job offers at locations such as Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, South Korea, the UK and the US.
<h3>IIT Roorke</h3>
Meanwhile, IIT Roorkee saw 31 companies offer multiple profiles till Saturday evening. With this, a total of 62 companies have visited the campus since the start of placements on December 1. Companies who made job offers on Day 2 include Accenture, Barclays, Clear (ClearTax), DCM Shriram, Deutsche Bank, Flipkart Internet Pvt. Ltd, Groww, Hilabs, ICICI Lombard, Jaguar Land Rover, Javis, Mastercard, according to a statement shared by the institute. A total of of 440 offers were received.
<h3>IIT Kharagpur</h3>
IIT Kharagpur has bagged over 700 offers including pre placement offers. More than 61 companies made offers at IIT Kharagpur for software, analytics, finance&ndash;banking, consulting and core engineering roles.
Apple, Arthur D.Little, Da Vinci, Capital One, DE Shaw, EXL Services, Glean, Google, Graviton, Microsoft, McKinney, Quantbox, Databricks, Square point and TSM, Palo Alto were among the companies that participated in the campus placements.&nbsp;
IIT Kharagpur in a statement mentioned that the students received more than 19 overseas offers with six students being offered Rs 1 crore-plus packages on the first day of the placement drive.&nbsp;
<h3>IIT-BHU</h3>
IIT-BHU saw 230 offers along with around 307 PPOs from 68 companies. The packages offered to IIT-BHU students ranged between Rs 12.5 lakh and Rs 1.68 crore. Companies that came to the campus include, Google, Flipkart, Deutsche Bank, Tata Capital, Deloitte among others
<h3>Hiring slowsdown</h3>
However, the macroeconomic challenges have reduced the offers made compared to last year. As per Times of India, the number of participating companies at IIT-Bombay are almost the same as last year&mdash;around 350. The number of job announcement forms(JAFs), however, are fewer as compared to last year.
IIT Bombay saw a marginal increase in the number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) accepted - from 194 last year to 200.

Experts who spoke to Mint has mentioned that the markets will deliver strong reactions based on the election results. Even though the state assembly polls do not impact the market behaviour it would contribute to its long term performance.
"While state elections are largely a non-event for equity markets from a long-term perspective, there might be some sharp reaction early next week," Pramod Gubbi, founder of Marcellus Investment Management told Mint.

Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst, Swastika Investmart told Mint that a stable political landscape would bolster investor confidence as the 5 states assembly polls is seen as a semi-finals to 2024 general assembly.&nbsp;
&lsquo;&rsquo;The upcoming state polls are being considered a semi-final before the 2024 assembly elections. A stable political environment could boost investor confidence and drive the market higher. If the election outcome is not favorable, then we can expect a fall of 1-2 per cent in the market, but that will be a buying opportunity as the market will look for the general election in 2024,'' Pravesh Gour told Mint.
Meanwhile, the Mint report quoting Emkay Global Services said that &nbsp;a decisive BJP win will reinforce the consensus view that the party is on the front foot for the 2024 general elections. This would lead to a rally in markets as policy continuity will be viewed as a positive growth shock in the medium term.
<h3>Market performance so far</h3>
The share market opened December with a bullish note. This after buying increased due to the more than expected GDP numbers in the July-September quarter data. The domestic equity benchmark Nifty50 had hit a fresh fresh record highs logging its best week in five months. Even the midcap index ended at a record high for the 15th consecutive session. Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 31 showed gains since the last record high on September 15, 2023.&nbsp;
The sensex had also hit its 11-week high, logging its fifth straight weekly gain. Nifty50 gained 2.39% while Sensex gained 2.29%. Along with the outperformance of domestically focussed small and mid caps over the blue-chips, all the 13 major sectors also logged gains last week.
In November, the Nifty small cap 100 index jumped 12% while the Nifty 50 rose 5.5%. Meanwhile, the Nifty Midcap 100 rose 10.4%. In 2023, the Nifty is up 12%, the Nifty Midcap is up 38%, and the Nifty Small Cap is up 46%.
