Daily domestic passengers to cross 456,000 by October, 2023: Aviation Minster

Civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the average daily domestic aviation passengers is expected to surpass the previous peak of 456,000 by October 2023.

During the CAPA India aviation summit, he also remarked, that a recovery in the Indian aviation industry following the COVID-19 outbreak was 'V-shaped'.

According to the minister, India currently has between 420,000 and 440,000 domestic aviation passengers each day.

Scindia emphasised the industry's enormous potential, given that penetration in India is still just about 3–4%.

The union aviation minister also spoke about the need to build the infrastructure necessary to sustain an economy worth $20 billion by 2047. The expansion of civil aircraft in India will be aided by the country's expanding economy, rapid urbanisation, rising standard of living, and rising aspirations of its people, he said.
