As per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, banks will be closed on all public holidays with some regional holidays depending on the particular state. Regional holidays are decided by respective state governments

Amid the hustle of exchanging ₹2,000 notes in banks, in June 2023, banks in India will remain closed for up to 12 days, including weekends.

In the month of June, in addition to the customary weekends, banks will remain closed in numerous states due to festivities such as Rath Yatra, Kharchi Puja, and Eid ul Azha. Consequently, a total of 12 bank holidays are scheduled for June 2023.

Before visiting a bank, it is advised to check the state’s holiday schedule in order to avoid any inconvenience.

People will not face any problems with bank-related work as holidays are not frequent or are at short intervals; ATMs, cash deposits, online banking and mobile banking will continue to function.

Here is the list of bank holidays in June 2023:

June 4: First Sunday of the month.

June 10: Second Saturday of the month.

June 11: Second Sunday of the month.

June 15: Banks in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar will be non-operational on account of Y M A Day/Raja Sankranti.

June 18: Third Sunday of the month.

June 20: Banks will remain closed in Bhubaneswar and Imphal for the Kang (Rathajatra)/Ratha Yatraas per RBI’s calendar.

June 24: Fourth Saturday of the month.

June 25: Fourth Sunday of the month.

June 26: Banks will remain closed in Agartala on account of Kharchi Puja.

June 28: Banks will remain closed in Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram on account of Bakrid (Eid-Ul-Adha)

June 29: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Imphal ,Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Lucknow, Kolkata, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Srinagar on account of Bakrid (Eid-Ul-Adha).

June 30: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar on account of Remna Ni/Id-Ul-Zuha.
