Apple restricts employees from using ChatGPT: Report

Apple Inc has become the latest big tech, which has restricted its employees from using ChatGPT and other external artificial intelligence tools.

Prior to this, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, Deutsche Bank, and Amazon also restricted the use of ChatGPT by their employees.

According to a report by Wall Street Journal, Apple is concerned about the leak of confidential data by employees who use the AI programs and has also advised its employees not to use Microsoft-owned GitHub's Copilot, used to automate the writing of software code.

This development also comes after OpenAI released the official ChatGPT app for iPhone for free.

ChatGPT, the artificial intelligence bot that became a global sensation for its powers to churn out human-like content and provide answers on all subjects, is now available on the Apple app store.

OpenAI, the Microsoft-backed company behind ChatGPT, on Thursday said the release came after it heard from users that they "love using ChatGPT on the go."
