Amul dismisses fake AI-generated cheese rumors circulating social media

Rumors regarding the emergence of a new Amul cheese brand have been debunked by the dairy giant amid a surge in fake claims inundating social media and WhatsApp platforms.

Amul addressed the speculations by releasing an official statement on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), cautioning the public against misinformation. The statement highlighted that an unauthorized individual had fabricated and disseminated a deceptive message asserting the launch of a new Amul Cheese variant.

In the clarifying message, Amul emphasized, "Issued in public interest by Amul: This is for your kind information that a fake message is being forwarded on WhatsApp and Social Media platforms regarding new type of Amul Cheese. The creator of the post has made the creative and posted this without any authorization from Amul."

Furthermore, the company expressed its concern over the inappropriate use of the Amul brand name in the AI-generated packaging showcased in the misleading post. Amul explicitly confirmed that the depicted packaging did not represent or belong to any Amul Cheese product.

Condemning the spread of misinformation, the dairy giant urged consumers to disregard the misleading content and assured the public about the authenticity and quality of Amul Cheese. The statement concluded with a request for recipients to share the clarification with their acquaintances and advised individuals to reach out via the toll-free number in case of any grievances or concerns.
