Amazon has implemented a policy where employees who do not comply with the work-from-office directives may face obstacles in receiving promotions.

The e-commerce giant stated that non-compliant employees will require vice-president approval for promotions. According to Business Insider, Amazon communicated internally, emphasizing that managers play a crucial role in the promotion process, supporting employee growth through regular discussions and assignments.

If an employee, whose role requires working from the office three or more days a week, is not in compliance, VP approval becomes necessary. This policy was introduced in February, requiring employees to return to the office at least three days a week starting in May.

Despite protests and petitions from employees in March and May, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy reaffirmed the return-to-office policy in August, emphasizing the importance of aligning with the company's direction.
