ZP School Jalindarnagar Wins 2025 World’s Best School Prize

London, Oct 1 (PTI) — ZP School Jalindarnagar, a primary school located in Taluka Khed, Maharashtra, has been honored as the winner of the 2025 World’s Best School Prizes Community Choice Award in a ceremony held in London this week.

The World’s Best School Prizes were established by the UK-headquartered T4 Education in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their purpose is to spotlight schools making transformative impacts within their classrooms and extending into their communities.

ZP School Jalindarnagar has been distinguished for its innovative approach to public-school education. It stands out for its Subject Friend system, a peer-learning model where students of varying ages engage in teaching and learning from one another.

Dattatray Ware, a teacher at this remarkable school in tribal Maharashtra, expressed his profound gratitude for receiving such a prestigious accolade.

“In 2022, Jalindarnagar School, a remote tribal institution, was on the brink of closure with merely three students enrolled. This remarkable journey in just two years has elevated its standards to global recognition,” Ware revealed.

“The transformation, both in infrastructure and pedagogy, marks the beginning of a broader change within the education system,” he added.

ZP School Jalindarnagar received the Community Choice Award by securing the highest votes among 50 shortlisted schools across five categories of the World’s Best School Prizes through a public voting process.

The award highlights its immense community impact, showcasing the role of skilled community members and parents who volunteer to impart lessons in electronics, carpentry, plumbing, languages, and science.

These community members have also taken charge of maintaining school infrastructure, dedicating their efforts to rebuild and sustain the school environment, thereby fostering a sense of self-ownership and collective pride.

“Our world is at a crucial juncture. We require leaders who can address the century’s most pressing challenges, ranging from climate change to the AI revolution, from conflicts to scarcity, and from populism to prejudice,” remarked Vikas Pota, Founder of T4 Education and the World’s Best School Prizes.

“Institutions like these hold the potential for tomorrow’s global leaders to find solutions… their pioneering endeavors will inspire educators and policymakers around the globe,” he noted.

This year’s winners of the World’s Best School Prizes across various categories will be attending the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi, UAE, scheduled for November 15-16.

During this summit, prize-winners will have a platform to share their best practices, unique insights, and experiences with global education policymakers and leading figures.

Franklin School in New Jersey, USA, clinched this year’s Prize for Innovation. A Favor del Niño in Mexico City took home the Prize for Community Collaboration. SK Putrajaya Presint 11(1) in Malaysia was awarded the Prize for Supporting Healthy Lives. Arbor School in Dubai received the Prize for Environmental Action 2025, and Escola Estadual Parque dos Sonhos in Cubatao, Brazil, was recognized with the Prize for Overcoming Adversity 2025.
