When will cancer-killing drug be available in market? Here's a tentative timeline

The first-ever human trial of a drug which might kill cancer has sparked speculation about when the drug will be available in the market.

However, the wait for as easier cancer cure is set to be longer. It would take at least two more years before patients get access to the under-trial drug.

This is because the drug has just begun its human trial phase. The trials are aimed at determining whether the drug is safe for use in humans. If declared safe, the drug will be tested for actively killing cancer cells.

The entire process is expected to take at least two years, and will be spread over many test sites.

Moreover, the drug will be administered to over 100 cancer patients who have received at least two other standard treatment procedures.
