Pakistani Punjab Police ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi became an overnight sensation after she saved a woman in Lahore from a mob mistaking her Arabic-printed attire for Quranic verses.

On Sunday, February 25, Naqvi and a few shopkeepers protected a woman whose life was in danger as a mob gathered around her in Lahore's Ichra Bazar and accused her of Blasphemy. The ASP was hailed for her bravery for rescuing the woman from the mob.

Many in Pakistan now want pictures with her. However, a man's request to the cop has got the internet's attention.

A video went viral in which a man jumps with excitement on seeing ASP Naqvi on a horse, and begins praising her. The man said, 'haaye mainu chhala pawa'de. Khich meri photo meri afsar naal laa de (Oh, put a ring on me. Take a picture of me with my officer).'

The Pakistan cop was seen laughing in the video at the man's comments. Social media users mirrored her reaction with laughing emoticons.

Naqvi has been a police officer for only four years and now she has been nominated for Pakistan’s highest gallantry award, the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal by the Punjab police.
