USA: Indian dies after being shot during robbery in Chicago, say reports

An Indian national has died in America after being shot during an armed robbery.

23-year-old Devsish Nandepu suffered bullet injuries on 22 January 2023 in Princeton Park, Chicago. He was shot in the armpit, and died a day later, as per reports.

The report added that Nandepu died just after 4 a.m. at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. He had been taken to the hospital in a critical condition after the incident.

Devsish and a friend were near a parking lot when a vehicle approached them, according to police. The car's occupants held them at gunpoint, and demanded valuables. Even though Devsish and his friend complied, they were shot.

The other man suffered an injury in his chest and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was in critical condition, police said.

No arrests were made by 24 January.
