Rubio Credits Trump for Peace in India-Pakistan Conflict

New York, Aug 8 (PTI) — Secretary of State Marco Rubio has claimed that the United States "got involved directly" in the conflict between India and Pakistan and credited former President Donald Trump with bringing peace between these two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Since May 10, Trump has repeatedly asserted his role in easing tensions between India and Pakistan, suggesting to the nations that the U.S. will engage in "a lot of trade" with them if they cease hostilities.

However, India has consistently affirmed that the cessation of hostilities was achieved through direct discussions between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of both countries' militaries.

In a recent interview with EWTN’s ‘The World Over,’ Rubio emphasized Trump’s dedication to peace, labeling him as the "president of peace."

"When India and Pakistan went to war, we got involved directly, and the president was able to deliver on that peace," Rubio stated.

He also mentioned other conflicts Trump allegedly helped to resolve, including tensions between Cambodia and Thailand, Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as a long-standing conflict between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.

Rubio expressed pride in these efforts and highlighted the ongoing focus on conflict resolution worldwide, notably in Ukraine and Russia.

"We dedicate a significant amount of time to stopping and ending wars," Rubio commented.
