Trump Administration Appeals Deportation Ruling to Supreme Court

Washington, May 27 (AP) The Trump administration has filed an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court, seeking to overturn a judge's decision that permits migrants to contest their deportation to South Sudan. The action follows a finding by Judge Brian E Murphy in Boston that the administration breached a court order by deporting individuals with criminal convictions to the troubled African nation. The judge had stipulated that migrants should be granted the opportunity to object before being deported to countries where they could face danger, notwithstanding any other exhausted legal proceedings. The U.S. government contends that the ruling has unjustly hindered its process of deporting migrants who cannot return to their countries of origin. In a stern assessment, a federal judge accused the Trump administration of "manufacturing" turmoil and expressed hope that "reason can get the better of rhetoric" regarding the deportation efforts to South Sudan. Judge Murphy, in a 17-page order released late Monday, stated that he had previously afforded significant leeway to the administration in a bid to collaborate on the case. Despite this, Murphy criticized the government's approach, suggesting it intentionally cultivated ambiguity as a means to evade clarity. The case centers on the endeavors by immigration advocates to block the administration from deporting migrants to countries they do not originate from, without offering a legitimate chance to challenge their removal.
