Four Security Personnel Killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Attacks

Peshawar, Aug 25 (PTI) At least four security personnel have lost their lives, and 17 others sustained injuries in two separate terrorist incidents in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to officials on Monday.

Late Sunday night, militants launched an attack on a Frontier Constabulary (FC) fort located in the Tora Warai area of Hangu district, resulting in the deaths of two personnel and injuries to 17 others, as reported by officials. Earlier in the day, two additional security personnel were killed by terrorist gunfire in the Tirah valley of Khyber district, officials added. In a separate incident, a joint operation by police and the Counter Terrorism Department in Upper Dir district led to the deaths of five militants.

Tragically, one civilian was killed in the operation, and seven policemen were injured, officials stated. Police recovered the body of one militant on Sunday night, followed by four more on Monday, raising the toll to five. Ongoing search operations are taking place in Upper Dir’s areas of Dobando, Birkot, Salam Kot, and Atandra to eliminate any remaining militant presence, police confirmed.
