Terrorist Attack Injures Six at Police Checkpoint in Bannu

Peshawar, July 23 (PTI) – In a recent attack, six personnel from the Frontier Constabulary were injured when terrorists targeted a police checkpoint in the border area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, northwestern Pakistan. Aamir Khan, spokesman for Bannu police, stated that the attack occurred at a Frontier Constabulary checkpoint located in the Takhti Khel area of Bannu district. The swift response from the constabulary forced the terrorists to flee. The injured constables were transported to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu for treatment. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate the attackers. Recently, Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist activities, with frequent attacks occurring in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan provinces. These attacks often target police, law enforcement personnel, and security forces. Earlier this week, Constable Hayatullah was killed in Bannu when terrorists ambushed him on his way home from duty. On July 21, more than a dozen terrorists attacked a police station in Bakkakhel, Bannu. Two days prior, on July 19, a quadcopter attack in Miryan, Bannu, resulted in injuries to two police officials. The surge in violence follows the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement by the proscribed group, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
